From long customer service queues to high turnover in call centres, businesses have struggled to meet rising customer expectations. While voice automation has promised a fix for decades, only now is the technology ready to deliver at scale. Synthflow AI, a Berlin-based startup, is betting big on that moment-and just secured $20M in Series A funding to lead the next generation of enterprise voice AI.

The round was led by Accel, with participation from existing backers Atlantic Labs and Singular. This follows a seed round in 2024, bringing total funding to $30M. Synthflow will use the capital to expand globally, open a U.S. office, and further develop its AI voice agent platform designed to automate phone calls with minimal friction.

Redefining voice automation for the contact centre era

Synthflow AI has created a no-code platform that allows enterprises to easily deploy natural-sounding AI voice agents. These virtual agents automate tasks like appointment scheduling, customer support, and lead qualification-without requiring specialised teams or deep AI knowledge. With more than 1,000 customers already on board, Synthflow is rapidly becoming a leading solution for BPO firms and contact centres seeking scalable automation.

“Businesses and their customers are becoming increasingly comfortable communicating with AI agents,” said co-founder and CEO Hakob Astabatsyan. “Our mission at Synthflow AI is to make high-quality, low-cost AI voice agents more accessible to improve customer services everywhere. The BPO and contact centre market represents a massive opportunity for us, and we’re already experiencing significant growth in this sector thanks to the simplicity of our no-code platform and the reliability and quality of our AI voice agents. This funding will help us accelerate this growth and scale our product so that we can continue pioneering Voice AI technology globally.”

Since its 2024 seed round, the company has integrated its technology with BPO providers and global contact centres, delivering a significant operational impact. Synthflow AI’s agents have handled 45 million calls to date with 99.9% uptime, answered 35% more calls than human operators, and saved over 5 million hours of contact centre time.

Voice agents that work out of the box-and sound human

What sets Synthflow apart is its AI Voice Operating System (OS), engineered to be indistinguishable from human conversation. The platform includes over 200 integrations across CRMs, calendars, and telephony systems, making it highly adaptable and fast to deploy. Unlike traditional voice AI tools that often take six months to implement, Synthflow’s platform can be up and running in a fraction of the time.

Its white-label AI voice agents require zero code and support complex workflows such as real-time data sharing, AI-to-human transfers, and multi-channel coordination. The system is specifically designed to meet the needs of non-technical business users looking for enterprise-grade results.

Accel partner Luca Bocchio commented: “Voice AI is at a real inflexion point; voice agents have been improving rapidly and have never been more cost-effective to deploy. The Synthflow AI team is seizing the moment from legacy players by making this technology more accessible. The market opportunity for deploying voice agents in traditional customer support use cases is vast and, as infrastructure continues to evolve and AI capabilities improve further, new emerging use cases in areas such as healthcare, financial services, education and more will continue to open up. Hakob and the team’s technical expertise and momentum so far have been impressive. We’re delighted to be investing in their vision and joining the journey ahead.”

Founders building the future of enterprise voice AI

Synthflow AI was founded in 2023 by Armenian-born serial entrepreneurs Albert Astabatsyan, Hakob Astabatsyan, and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky. The trio previously worked together on AI-enabled software ventures and launched Synthflow to address what they saw as the critical bottleneck in voice automation: the gap between technical capability and business usability.

Their aim was to make voice AI work not only for tech giants but also for mid-market enterprises with limited resources. That mission has guided Synthflow’s product strategy, from the no-code design to its modular integrations with common enterprise tools.

Their diverse backgrounds in AI, product development, and customer experience give them a unique edge in building scalable voice solutions. This latest funding validates their vision and signals investor confidence in Synthflow’s position in the $168B global conversational AI market.

Future plans for Synthflow’s enterprise voice AI

Synthflow plans to open a U.S. headquarters and expand hiring across engineering, sales, and customer success teams. The company will also invest in R&D to further improve the human-likeness, performance, and adaptability of its enterprise voice AI agents. While its core focus remains on BPO and contact centres, the company is exploring expansion into healthcare, finance, and education-sectors where voice automation could drive major cost and efficiency gains.

As demand for always-on, intelligent communication grows, Synthflow AI is well-positioned to define a new standard for enterprise voice AI-one where voice agents sound less like machines and more like meaningful human interactions.
