At present, retail investors have access to a wide range of asset classes. However, with too many options and overwhelming amounts of information, one can get easily confused and unsure where to turn.

As a result, two Belgian nationals wanted to help retail investors understand their investments and make well-informed decisions through their startup — Beurzbyte. Like Zeed, which delivers short 60-second educational videos produced by professionals in the finance industry, the London-based company is taking the visual-form route.

To advance its platform and to create in-house content across financial literacy and investment intelligence, now Beurzbyte secured £2.2M in pre-seed funding from angel investors.

Why Beurzbyte?

Pedram Parhizkari and Niels Soete built Beurzbyte out of frustration with existing solutions that are expensive, outdated, and unnecessarily complex or free online resources that spread misinformation and have no investment industry experience.

The duo realised a need for a platform that tailored content to personal interests and provided investment intelligence and financial education.

“Our motto, “discover the investor in you,” reflects our goal to help investors understand how to value investment and develop their own investment style, philosophy, and personality. We want retail investors worldwide to discover what kind of investor they are – whether they prefer dividends and a risk-averse approach or growth and taking on more risk,” says the co-founders.

Helps retail investors learn the ins and outs

Beurzbyte is a mobile app that helps retail investors learn the ins and outs of investing and discover investment opportunities through video content.

The company’s platform — “Beurzbyte Learn” and “Beurzbyte Discover,” helps users with actionable information through creative storytelling.

Currently, Beurzbyte’s core team consists of six people from the Middle Eastern (17%), Asian (17%), Eastern Europe (17%), Western Europe (17%), and Southern Europe (17%). Regarding diversity, Beurzbyte’s team consists of 17% female and 83% male.
