Nordic Starhive no-code app builder raises $3M to drive international growth and empower businesses with custom software solutions.

Sweden-based Starhive no-code app builder, has successfully raised $3M in a seed funding round, aimed at accelerating the global expansion of its platform. The investment, spearheaded by Nordic venture capital firm node.vc, aims to strengthen Starhive’s mission of empowering businesses to develop custom applications tailored to their unique needs. This includes creating onboarding apps for new employees, e-commerce management systems, and collaborative marketing spaces for shared projects, all without requiring extensive coding knowledge or expensive developer teams.

Global expansion

Founded in 2022, Starhive has rapidly become a leading platform for businesses seeking to build sophisticated, bespoke applications tailored to their unique needs. The company’s no-code solution allows non-developers to create business apps in just hours, streamlining operations and reducing reliance on multiple SaaS tools or custom-coded software. With this $3M investment, Starhive plans to scale its operations and enhance its platform, targeting key sectors such as enterprise service management, asset management, and project management.

Driving innovation in the no-code market

The global demand for no-code and low-code solutions is on the rise, with Gartner predicting a 24% growth in the market to $12 billion by 2024. Starhive’s platform taps into this growing trend, offering businesses the ability to innovate and streamline operations through custom-built applications that meet their specific requirements.
By using Starhive’s unique data platform, users can leverage an innovative and robust database that provides true data freedom. When combined with additional tools like the automation engine and workflow builder, businesses can eliminate manual processes, reduce spending on multiple SaaS tools, and avoid maintaining custom-coded software.
“Organisations of all sizes have workflows that are often handled inefficiently through manual processes or costly, off-the-shelf software that doesn’t quite fit their needs,” said Tommy Nordahl, Starhive’s Co-Founder and CEO. “We have produced a unified solution that offers the best of both worlds, combining the ease of ready-made software with the flexibility of a custom-built solution.”

A seasoned team with a track record of success

Starhive’s co-founders, Tommy Nordahl and Mathias Edblom, bring over 40 years of combined industry experience. The duo previously co-founded Mindville, an IT asset and configuration management company that was acquired by Atlassian in 2020. Their expertise, along with a team that includes eleven former Mindville employees, positions Starhive for significant growth in the competitive no-code market.

“This funding allows us to propel both the company and our products further than ever before,” added Mathias Edblom, Co-Founder and CPO of Starhive. “We believe that technology should adapt to the needs of the business, not the other way around. Starhive empowers teams to build exactly what they need, when they need it, without being constrained by generic software or the complexities of custom coding.”

Strategic support for a game-changing platform

The round, led by node.vc, will also see node Partners Andy Johnston & Henrik Tellving joining Starhive as board members.

Andy Johnston, Partner at node.vc, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating, “We at node are thrilled to be joining Starhive at this pivotal stage in the company’s journey. Starhive’s powerful data management capabilities combined with its no-code app development approach is a game-changer for businesses seeking to optimise their operations.”
