Turkish mobile gaming startup Grand Games has secured $70 million in a Series B round led by Balderton Capital, bringing its total funding to $103 million within just two years of launch.

Existing investors Bek Ventures and Laton Ventures joined the round, alongside gaming entrepreneur Mert Gür, also also participating.

Last year, the company secured $30 million in Series A funding. The latest investment comes as the company’s valuation edges toward unicorn territory following rapid business growth.

Founded in 2024 by Batuhan Celebi, Mehmet Calim, and Mustafa Fırtına, Grand Games was created with the ambition of reshaping the mobile gaming market through hybrid casual titles designed for short but highly engaging gameplay sessions. The founders chose to focus on puzzle-based mechanics at a time when many mobile studios were competing in heavily saturated categories.

“We started Grand to build the kind of company we believed could unlock the full potential of great talent. Turkey has produced some of the best mobile gaming talent in the world, and we wanted to create an environment where that talent has real ownership over decisions, product direction, and outcomes,” says Çelebi.

Grand’s operating model has become one of its defining features. Instead of relying on a centralised structure, the company runs through five autonomous studios where teams independently manage development decisions. The ownership-driven setup is intended to speed up production while giving creators greater control over their games. The entire 75-person workforce remains based in Istanbul, reflecting the company’s belief in Turkey’s rapidly growing gaming talent ecosystem.

“At Grand, the people building the games are at the centre of everything we do, with the founding team supporting them when needed. Our mission from day one has been to set a new standard not just for the games themselves, but for how a gaming company operates,” Çelebi adds.

The strategy is already translating into strong commercial momentum. Grand reported 5x year-over-year revenue growth while scaling from an already substantial base. The company now operates six live games, including recent launches that helped strengthen its international reach. Two of its titles, Magic Sort and Block Out, recently secured the top two positions on the US iOS most downloaded games chart.

The startup has also surpassed 50 million downloads globally, with players spread across more than 200 countries. Those numbers position Grand among the new generation of Turkish gaming companies following the path carved out by rivals such as Dream Games and Peak Games, both of which helped establish Turkey as a major mobile gaming hub.

“We’ve been working closely with Grand over the past year, witnessing the team’s execution, culture, and product differentiation firsthand. Having invested in the mobile gaming space for many years, we know what exceptional teams look like in this category, and Grand is unquestionably one. It was an easy decision for us to double down on our investment. Our conviction in what Batu, Mehmet, Mustafa, and the team are building is stronger than ever,” notes Rana Yared, partner, at Balderton.

Grand plans to use the new funding primarily to expand marketing efforts, scale existing titles, and support a growing pipeline of upcoming releases. With fresh capital, fast-growing revenues, and increasing global visibility, the company is aiming to turn its hybrid casual gaming strategy into a worldwide entertainment business.
