Startup in spotlight: Jack & Jill AI raises $20M to reimagine hiring with autonomous AI agents

Traditional hiring processes are inefficient, costly, and often biased, leading to frustration for both candidates and companies. Jack & Jill AI, a startup deploying two fully autonomous AI agents, tackles these problems head-on. Jack focuses on helping candidates find jobs that genuinely fit their skills and ambitions, while Jill works with companies to identify their ideal hires. 

Since launching in London, Jack & Jill AI has quickly gained momentum, engaging with 49,000 candidates and embedding Jill within the hiring teams of hundreds of fast-growing firms.

Today, Jack & Jill attracted $20 million in seed funding led by Creandum, and joined by Dig Ventures, Entrepreneur First, Ada Ventures, Firedrop, Repeat.vc, Episode1, Playfair and over 75 high-profile angel investors, including Nico Rosberg, and from companies such as Lovable, Anthropic and ElevenLabs.

Reimagining hiring from first principles by creating Agentic AI

The company was founded in early 2025 by Matthew Wilson and Saaras Mehan. Wilson, who scaled HR tech company Omnipresent from a startup to a $600 million valuation in under three years, brings deep experience transforming how people work remotely and hire globally.

Their shared frustration with recruitment inefficiencies inspired them to rethink hiring from the ground up, creating what they call “Agentic A,” an AI designed to work with human empathy and precision.

Jack & Jill’s agents carry out conversations much like expert recruiters. Jack delves into candidates’ backgrounds and ambitions, going beyond keywords to surface truly relevant job opportunities. Jill consults with hiring managers to understand role requirements and combs through Jack’s extensive network to deliver the best matches. This process is faster, more reliable, and half the cost of conventional recruiting, making it accessible for companies hiring at every level.

Unlike platforms like Alex, HireVue, or Eightfold, Jack & Jill AI reconstructs the system from scratch. The agents autonomously conduct thousands of nuanced, human-like conversations each day, combining empathy with AI efficiency to create a smarter and fairer hiring ecosystem.

Currently, Jack & Jill employs a team of 12 and boasts partnerships with innovative companies. Customers consistently report quicker hires, higher-quality candidates, and savings of up to 50% on traditional recruiter fees. 

With a strong foothold in London, Jack & Jill AI is now preparing for rapid expansion into the San Francisco Bay Area and broader U.S. market. The fresh $20 million in funding will support this growth and help bring their intelligent, cost-effective recruitment solution to a global audience.
