Swedish AI startup Lovable has become the talk of the tech world, making headlines as “Sweden’s latest unicorn” after its blockbuster $200 million Series A round. The raise, announced today, brings Lovable’s valuation to $1.8 billion, confirming earlier coverage by Sifted and marking one of Europe’s most significant tech funding stories of 2025.

Earlier this month, Tech Funding News reported that Lovable was about to raise $150M at a $2B valuation.

Success of Lovable? Making software for everyone

At the heart of Lovable’s meteoric rise is a long-standing market dilemma: the world needs apps, websites, and digital tools more than ever, but most people lack the time, money, or technical skills to turn ideas into working products. Traditional development is slow and costly, and even no-code platforms have often fallen short for ambitious users.

Lovable’s founders, Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin, Swedish engineers with deep roots in AI, accessibility technology, and open-source innovation, saw this barrier not as a given, but as an opportunity to democratise the field.

Their solution is “vibe coding,” a conversational AI development platform that allows users to describe what they want and instantly see production-ready apps take shape, including front-end, back-end, database, and all, without writing a single line of code. This technology, powered by cutting-edge language models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, stands out for its ability to create complex, scalable, and fully functional applications from scratch. Unlike traditional no-code or code-generation tools, Lovable handles the entire stack, empowering everyone from individual creators to enterprise teams.

The product’s viral traction tells the story: over 500,000 users, 30,000 paid subscribers, and as many as 25,000 new apps launched daily have driven annual recurring revenue from less than $20 million to a staggering $75 million in just a few months. This popularity among both tech-savvy and non-technical users has attracted major investors, including Accel, Creandum, and influential tech angels, who see Lovable not just as another unicorn, but as a future category leader on the global stage.

A future where anyone can build

With new funding in hand, Lovable’s mission is just beginning. The team is scaling fast, hiring top engineering talent across Europe, and building richer features that make it even easier for teams to move from idea to product. Plans are in place to expand into enterprise partnerships, launch a developer ecosystem, and enhance support for collaborative workflows.

Anton and Fabian’s vision is to make Lovable “the last tool you’ll ever need to build software,” not just in Sweden, but for the world.

As digital transformation accelerates and capital flows into AI-native companies at record rates, Lovable’s meteoric trajectory positions it as a standard-bearer for a new era: one where anyone’s “vibe” can power the creation of real, impactful technology. Sweden, and now the world, is watching closely.
