In the US, financial crime now costs more than $100 billion a year, and by 2025, over half of financial institutions reported a rise in fraud and other abuses. RiskFront AI aims to change how that work is done by automating much of the repetitive, manual work in compliance operations.

Its platform uses intelligent agents to handle research, data analysis, and documentation at a scale humans simply can’t match. The company says its system can cut research time down to about 5% of a typical workflow, allowing analysts to spend most of their time on high‑value judgment calls and final decisions.

Today, RiskFront AI has raised $3.3 million in pre-seed funding, led by Lytical Ventures, with participation from Flint Capital and Oceans, and will help the company scale development of its “agentic AI” platform designed to automate complex compliance work.

A new standard for how financial institutions approach risk management

RiskFront AI was founded in 2024 by Andy Bethurum and Michael Abramchyk to give companies a way to scale compliance work without simply adding more people, using intelligent systems to take on the heavy lifting so human experts can focus on judgment and oversight.

At the core of RiskFront AI’s offering is Airos, the company’s AI operating platform for compliance and financial crime prevention. It includes three main modules: the due diligence research system, the transaction analysis system, as well as document analysis system. Together, they form an autonomous system designed to carry out much of the day‑to‑day workload in compliance operations.

Unlike traditional vendors such as ComplyAdvantage, Unit21, Hawk AI, or Featurespace, RiskFront AI is rebuilding operational processes so organisations can offload repetitive work entirely.

The system runs on secure AWS private cloud infrastructure, meets SOC 2 Type II standards, and has passed third‑party reviews by regulated financial institutions and global service firms.

    What’s next?

With its new funding, RiskFront AI plans to expand its engineering and product teams across the U.S. and Europe, focusing on deeper integrations for banks and fintech partners already testing the platform.

The company is also developing new features for cross‑border transaction monitoring and real‑time risk assessment.

Founders conclude, “Our plan is to become the AI-enabled risk operating system for financial crime risk and compliance operational tasks and workflows, and to be a one stop shop solution for any type of due diligence research that takes place in risk and compliance”
