Tamatem Games is an Amman-based mobile games publisher that partners with international studios and developers, take their games, localise them, and makes them culturally relevant for the Arabic gamer.
The Jordanian company has raised $11M funding in a Series B round led by South Korean video game developer KRAFTON, Inc, maker of popular battle royale game PUBG. Other investors, including Venture Souq, Endeavor Catalyst, and existing investors, participated in the round.
To date, the company has raised over $17M and now values around $80M.

Fund usage
The funding will enable Tamatem Games to accelerate its efforts further to bring more popular titles to the Arabic-speaking market.
The company is also planning to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia by broadening the office and hiring local Saudi talent. As per the company’s claims, Saudi Arabia harbors 70% of its users.
Tamatem says it plans to launch a gaming academy to train, educate and elevate employment in the industry.

Founded by Eyad Al Basheer, Hussam Hammo, and Sohaib Thiab in 2013, Tamatem is a leading mobile game publisher in the MENA region.
The company primarily focuses on games genres including Racing, drifting, MMO-RPG, strategy, puzzle and word, story-based games, and trivia games.
The company has over 100M game downloads, 1M monthly active users, and over 50 published games.

KRAFTON is a collective of independent game development studios brought together to create innovative and engaging entertainment experiences for gamers.
The companies consist of PUBG Studios, Bluehole Studio, Striking Distance Studios, RisingWings, Dreamotion, and Unknown Worlds. It is known for some of the famous games, including PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, PUBG: NEW STATE, The Callisto Protocol, TERA, and ELYON.
