This investment positions OpusClip to compete with established video editing software by offering a faster, AI-driven alternative tailored for the modern content ecosystem.

Who is behind the company?

Founded by Young Zhao, Grace Wang, and Jay Wu in 2022 in California, OpusClip was built on the vision of making video editing effortless, scalable, and optimised for engagement. The team recognised that long-form videos often struggle to gain traction on social media, where short, high-impact clips dominate.

Their mission is to democratise professional-quality video editing by leveraging AI to automate complex tasks, enhance content visibility, and maximise audience reach. This vision has earned the trust of major brands and creators, including Univision, Billboard, iHeartMedia, Visa, LinkedIn, Impact Theory, and Grant Cardone.

Meet the AI-powered editing tool

At the core of OpusClip’s success is its multimodal AI-powered video editing tool, designed to extract the most compelling moments from long-form content and transform them into high-engagement short videos.

  • AI Clipping: Identifies the most viral-worthy segments, rearranging them into cohesive, high-retention short videos.
  • AI Video Editor: Enhances content with animated captions, AI-driven reframing, automatic audio cleaning, and AI-generated B-roll.
  • AI Video Search (OpusSearch): Allows creators to instantly find and repurpose clips from their video archives based on trending topics.

OpusClip’s AI analyseS speaker movement, detects key moments, and adapts aspect ratios for platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. The tool is widely used for video podcasts, educational content, commentary videos, product reviews, and motivational speeches.

What’s next?

As social media continues shifting towards short-form, high-engagement content, AI-powered video editing tools are becoming essential for creators and brands. Traditional video editing remains time-consuming and complex, but generative AI solutions like OpusClip are streamlining the process, reducing costs, and increasing content visibility.

With its strong leadership, cutting-edge AI capabilities, and expanding global footprint, OpusClip is positioned to lead the future of AI-driven content creation. The company’s next focus will be on further personalising AI recommendations, integrating deeper social media analytics, and enhancing collaboration features for creators and businesses.

By automating video editing at scale, OpusClip is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the next era of content creation, empowering users to create, edit, and distribute viral-worthy videos with unprecedented speed and efficiency.
