UK-based digital healthcare provider Numan has raised $60 million in new funding. The round, an extension of its Series B, was led by Big Pi Ventures, with participation from White Star Capital, Novator Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst. Additionally, $27 million was secured in growth capital from HSBC Innovation Banking UK.

The announcement caps off a period of remarkable progress for Numan. The company, which provides personalised and preventative healthcare solutions via a fully integrated digital platform, reported 2024 revenues of $90 million, more than doubling its year-on-year figures. Having reached profitability at the end of 2023, Numan is on an ambitious path, projecting 150% growth by the end of 2025. To support this growth, Numan plans to double the size of its clinical and AI engineering teams, further reinforcing its commitment to high standards of care and innovation.

Investing in scalable, responsible innovation

This funding will be instrumental in deepening Numan’s technological foundations. A significant portion will be allocated to scaling the platform’s infrastructure to meet the growing demand for patients, as well as enhancing its AI-driven capabilities. The company is developing advanced remote patient monitoring tools and predictive models to detect chronic health risks before they manifest, enabling earlier and more effective interventions.

The emphasis, however, remains on deploying this technology with clinical responsibility, a reflection of the trust Numan has built with patients and practitioners alike.

Moving from treatment to prevention

While most digital health solutions focus on access and convenience, Numan is carving out a unique niche in preventative care. Its approach weaves together diagnostics, medications, behavioural coaching, and expert guidance into a single patient-centric experience. The platform is not only about managing illness but also about changing the trajectory of an individual’s health before conditions become chronic.

This preventive approach is now expanding to include female health, a notable evolution for a company that has focused on underserved and stigmatised men’s health areas such as obesity and testosterone deficiency. New services include enhanced screening, personalised hormonal health pathways, and condition-specific education for women. By venturing into women’s health and introducing enhanced screening and preventive care programmes, Numan is broadening its impact and filling a critical gap in the healthcare market.

Numan is also actively expanding its business-to-business (B2B) offerings, partnering with employers and insurance providers to promote preventive healthcare programmes that improve workforce health and reduce long-term costs. This emerging revenue stream is becoming a significant growth driver.

Scaling beyond the UK

Numan’s trajectory until now has been largely UK-focused, but this funding round is poised to change that. The company has already treated over 650,000 patients across a wide spectrum of conditions and has earned a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 68, placing it among the most trusted digital health providers in Europe.

With international expansion on the horizon, Numan plans to unlock new markets where fragmented care systems and limited access to preventative services create demand for digital-first solutions. The company is also in discussions with strategic partners in the EU and MENA regions to accelerate market entry and localisation efforts.

Mission to humanise healthcare

Founded by Sokratis Papafloratos, Numan was born from a deeply personal frustration with the rigidity, opacity, and stigma attached to accessing care, especially for conditions many find hard to talk about. Papafloratos, a serial entrepreneur, envisioned a better way, a technology-driven healthcare platform that doesn’t just treat symptoms, but improves lives through education, empathy, and prevention.

The mission is to help people live happier, healthier, longer lives. From the beginning, Numan’s focus has been on integrating clinical care with behavioural and lifestyle support, making healthcare more accessible and less intimidating. In doing so, the platform hopes to shift healthcare from reactive to proactive, bridging the long-standing gap between prevention and treatment.

Building trust through behavioural change

What sets Numan apart isn’t just its technology or growth metrics but the human-centred care model behind the platform. The company helps patients make sustainable behavioural changes through ongoing coaching and clinical support. In doing so, Numan addresses root causes rather than simply managing symptoms, a crucial distinction in tackling lifestyle-driven conditions like obesity and hormone imbalances.

This model, backed by proprietary technology and personalised pathways, ensures that care is not only effective but deeply engaging. Patients are given the tools and support to take charge of their health, a vital ingredient for long-term success in digital healthcare.

Additionally, Numan is believed to be exploring selective acquisitions of startups with complementary technologies and services, particularly in women’s health and diagnostics, to fast-track expansion and product diversification.

Backing the future of health

With $60 million in fresh capital, rapidly growing revenues, and a proven care model, Numan is no longer just a promising UK startup but is also becoming a flagbearer for the future of digital health. By tackling stigma, enabling early interventions, and placing patients at the centre of their healthcare journey, Numan is charting a course toward healthier, longer, and more empowered lives. And now, it’s ready to take that mission global.

Sokratis Papafloratos, CEO of Numan, commented: “Our latest funding is a testament to both our commercial performance and belief in our long-term vision for providing personalised, preventative health at scale. With the fresh conviction of Big Pi Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst and HSBC Innovation Banking, as well as the continued backing of White Star Capital and our long-term investors, we are now perfectly positioned to expand our reach, deepen our clinical capabilities, and accelerate innovation to help our patients live happier, healthier, longer lives.”

Nick Kalliagkopoulos, Partner at Big Pi Ventures, said: “Numan has demonstrated exceptional growth and a clear vision to tackle some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges, from obesity to hormonal health. We are excited to back a company that combines clinical rigour with technological innovation to deliver better health outcomes. The team’s focus on preventative care, patient engagement, and scalable technology sets Numan apart in the digital health sector. We’re confident that this infusion of capital will help Numan consolidate its leadership in the UK and pave the way for international expansion.”

Michael White, Head of Life Sciences  at HSBC Innovation Banking UK, added: “HSBC Innovation Banking is proud to support Numan as it enters its next phase of growth. We partner with life sciences and healthcare companies at every stage of their growth to build banking and lending solutions that match their ambitions. Our team is committed to backing bold innovators, like Numan, equipping them with the tools they need to help them reach their next milestones. We look forward to seeing Numan continue to expand its reach across the UK and beyond.”
