NEKCOM, a game development startup has closed a $8M round of funding. It intends to use the funds to grow abroad as well as develop its games.

Ryan You, Galaxy Interactive’s co-head of gaming, will join the board of directors of NEKCOM. According to NEKCOM, the investment will be used for research and development as well as international expansion.
Showa American Story, an action RPG about a zombie apocalypse set in 1980s America, and Dying: 1983, a first-person puzzle horror game and the successor to Dying: Reborn, are currently under production.
This year, the Chinese company launched its first US-based studio in New York City as part of its international expansion goals. Kimmy Li has been named CEO of Nekcom USA by Nekcom.
