The portfolio and fund management industry still relies heavily on fragmented tools, manual processes, and ageing on‑prem systems, making it hard to obtain a single, timely view of risk, exposure, and compliance across strategies and entities.

MAIA Technology addresses this by offering an AI, cloud-native platform that unifies portfolio analysis, compliance, trading workflows, reporting, and risk into a single, user-friendly system designed specifically for hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional investors.

The £4 million Series A, led by Molten Ventures, will be used to enhance product capabilities, deepen integrations, and expand reach across the investment management sector as managers modernise their operating stacks.

Building a robust, resilient platform

MAIA Technology is led by CEO Mark Veevers, supported by a team with firsthand experience in both asset management and software engineering, bringing together front-, middle-, and back-office perspectives into a single product vision.

MAIA’s platform is cloud-native and API-driven, designed to slot into existing fund workflows while consolidating data from multiple sources into a single source of truth for all users. It brings PMS, OEMS, compliance, risk, and IBOR tooling into one connected environment, with flexible workflows and automated compliance checks that reduce manual reconciliation and spreadsheet risk.

Other features include a unified, front‑to‑back investment operations view that reduces the need for multiple systems and brittle integrations; an open, modular architecture that lets clients adopt pre‑configured workflows or tailor the platform to their exact operating model as they scale; and a real-time transparency over portfolios and risk, supporting faster and more informed decision-making in environments where programmatic, data-driven strategies are expanding.

In a competitive landscape that includes legacy enterprise vendors (such as SS&C Advent, Charles River, and SimCorp) and newer cloud-native players (like Enfusion, Canoe Intelligence, or FundGuard in adjacent areas), MAIA differentiates by starting from the perspective of live investment environments and designing specifically for forward-thinking hedge funds and asset managers rather than as a one-size-fits-all institutional system.

    What’s next?

With the new Series A capital, MAIA plans to accelerate feature development across portfolio management, risk, and compliance, deepen integrations with data providers and trading venues, and broaden deployment among hedge funds and asset managers globally.
