Global supply chains are increasingly complex and volatile. Many large companies still use outdated software that tracks processes but fails to support effective decision-making. These organisations rely on disconnected systems that can’t quickly adapt to real-time changes or new business demands. As a result, supply chain teams are “data-rich but insight-poor,” struggling to make fast, accurate decisions in rapidly changing environments.

Lyric, an AI-powered platform based in Sunnyvale, California, directly addresses these challenges. Since emerging from stealth 18 months ago, the company has achieved 500% revenue growth and now supports supply chain decisions for nearly 30 major global enterprises.

With its recent $43.5 million Series B funding round, led by Insight Partners and other investors, Lyric is advancing its mission to make supply chain intelligence more dynamic, flexible, and user-centric. To date, Lyric has raised a total of $67 million.

“Supply chains today are too complex and volatile for static software. Leaders need platforms that adapt to them, not the other way around. We are proud to be building the next generation of supply chain infrastructure,” says Ganesh Ramakrishna, Co-Founder and CEO of Lyric.

Building smarter, more inclusive supply chains

Lyric was founded by Ganesh Ramakrishna, who previously co-founded Opex Analytics, a company specialising in supply chain data science that helped large organisations enhance decision-making through optimisation and machine learning. LLamasoft acquired Opex and later integrated into Coupa in a $1.5 billion deal.

The founding team includes Ronan O’Donovan (Product), Vish Oza (Machine Learning), Sarang Jagdale (Algorithms), Karthik Mutukrishnan (Engineering), and Sara Hoormann (Strategy and Marketing). All bring extensive technical and domain expertise in supply chain and decision intelligence, having previously collaborated during the Opex, LLamasoft, and Coupa phases.

“Our platform, Lyric Studio, allows companies to build AI-powered decision products at a fraction of the time and cost. These aren’t just dashboards or reports; they’re real analytical applications supporting day-to-day, weekly, and long-term decisions. Today, Lyric Studio powers dozens of such applications across major global enterprises,” Ganesh says to TFN.

Diversity is a key aspect of the team’s culture. While Lyric doesn’t publish formal diversity statistics, the founding team includes one female founder and four South Asian founders. Sara Hoormann, Strategy and Marketing lead and founder, emphasises that diverse perspectives have been central to shaping the company’s approach. She reflects on her experience as a woman in supply chain technology, sharing insights about the importance of speaking up, listening carefully, and contributing unique viewpoints that enhance problem-solving abilities.

Behind Lyric: Adaptive AI at the heart of supply chain

Lyric’s technology features a modular, layered AI architecture that offers both robustness and adaptability in supply chain decision-making. Its core includes data infrastructure designed to clean, organise, and prepare supply chain data for modelling and AI applications. Above this, Lyric provides a comprehensive catalogue of preloaded algorithms for various modelling purposes such as network optimisation, demand forecasting, and inventory management. Customers can also incorporate their own custom models into this layer.

At the top, a workflow builder allows analysts to create and manage complex decision processes without coding. The final layer is a no-code application builder, which enables teams to transform workflows into interactive apps for easy use across different business units.

This four-layer system, comprising data infrastructure, algorithm catalogue, workflow builder, and application builder, distinguishes Lyric from legacy platforms. Unlike traditional tools that are preset and resistant to modification, Lyric is designed to be customised, extended, and assembled flexibly. It brings modern software development agility to supply chain decision-making.

Additionally, Lyric utilises NVIDIA’s cuOpt GPU-accelerated solvers, significantly boosting simulation speeds and allowing companies to optimise supply chain performance with greater accuracy.

Building an AI-enabled supply chain ecosystem

With its recent $43.5 million Series B financing round, Lyric is poised to accelerate product development, expand its library of reusable supply chain logic, and enhance its AI-driven experimentation, simulation, and automation capabilities. The company plans investments in customer onboarding, success programs, and community-building initiatives to ensure users leverage the platform effectively at scale.

“Our goal over the next few years is to grow our customer base by ten times, to move from serving nearly 30 leading enterprises to potentially thousands worldwide,” Ramakrishna says. Lyric sees a global opportunity among more than 10,000 organisations needing adaptable, AI-powered supply chain decision platforms.

Ramakrishna emphasises, “We believe supply chain decision making is overdue for reinvention. We are proud to be building the next generation of supply chain infrastructure. When we succeed, the results are better business outcomes, but also smarter, more sustainable supply chains that make better use of Earth’s resources. That’s something we’re proud to be building.”
