Lithuanian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturer Monopulse has secured €1.12 million in financing from the national development bank ILTE. The loan, which is a part of its Business program, supports companies that create high-value-added technologies. It focuses on strengthening national security industries.

Scale up to meet rising defence demands

The financing will allow Monopulse to scale production capacity and fulfil a growing number of orders from customers in Lithuania and across Europe. As global defence priorities shift, demand for reliable and adaptable UAV systems continues to climb, particularly for surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Security through allied supply chains

In a sector where supply chain integrity is crucial, Monopulse follows a strict sourcing policy, wherein critical components come only from allied nations. This approach safeguards reliability and compliance with NATO standards.

What sets Monopulse apart is its end-to-end control over production. The company designs and manufactures all key parts internally, from cameras to flight control computers, ensuring quality and data security.

Monopulse’s innovation

Its Falcon series UAVs feature a modular design, allowing quick field repairs and minimal downtime. Notably, these drones operate without dependence on cloud services, keeping all captured data stored locally on the aircraft itself, an advantage for defence clients. The Falcon’s 15 km operational range adds further tactical flexibility.

Monopulse’s UAVs, classified under NATO Class I (Mini), are engineered for agility and endurance. Each system is equipped with multiple cameras, including night-vision units, and is built with advanced communication technology that maintains control even in GPS-jammed environments. This ensures operability in high-risk zones where traditional drones might fail.

Learning from the battlefield

Founded in 2021 by Justas Poderys, Alexander Vesterhauge and Vilius Kumpikas, Monopulse’s innovation is deeply informed by frontline experience in Ukraine. The company collaborates with Ukrainian defence partners to continuously refine its technology based on real-world combat feedback.

CEO Poderys noted that the war in Ukraine highlighted how vital robust IT infrastructure and rapid adaptability are to modern warfare. Yet, the biggest challenge lies in the speed of technological change and how swiftly governments can respond. While procurement systems are evolving, Poderys emphasises the need for faster, more flexible decision-making to meet new defence realities.

With this latest funding, Monopulse is positioning itself not just as a UAV manufacturer but as a strategic force in Europe’s defence innovation landscape, combining technical precision, battlefield insight, and supply chain integrity.

“Monopulse’s activities strongly reflect ILTE’s strategic goals –to support businesses that create real added value for the country, strengthen European security, and contribute to technological independence. The development of defence technology in Lithuania is crucial for strengthening both national security and the resilience of the country’s economy,” said Giedrė Gečiauskienė, Head of Client Financing at ILTE.

“The supply chain is maintained both by auditing suppliers and by working directly with raw material providers. This approach allows us to precisely trace the origin of every component and maintain the highest quality and security standards while cooperating only with verified partners,” said Monopulse CEO Justas Poderys. Countries closer to Ukraine are implementing these changes much more quickly, as the need to respond to modern battlefield challenges is much more tangible here.”
