What began as a productivity tool has since grown into Motion, the world’s first agentic work suite, a platform where AI-powered agents take on everyday tasks autonomously. After six years of development, Motion has become a vital solution for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), helping them automate sales, marketing, project management, and customer engagement without the need for costly custom-built systems.
Motion’s rapid growth has caught investors’ attention as the company has raised $60 million across Series B, Series C, and Series C2, bringing its total funding to $75 million and a fresh valuation of $550 million. The highlight was a $38 million Series C round that was more than five times oversubscribed, led by Scale Venture Partners. Stacey Bishop, who previously backed HubSpot and Bill.com, joined Motion’s board, bringing valuable expertise in scaling SMB-focused companies.
Insiders like HOF Capital, 468 Capital, and SignalFire doubled down, while Y Combinator participated in every round. New investors such as Valor Equity Partners, Fellows Fund, Leonis Capital, and several unicorn founders also joined. Qi’s former executive coach from YC, Ashutosh Desai, even came on board full-time, a testament to Motion’s strong momentum.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
In addition to this, Motion’s B2B revenue has tripled year-over-year, reaching eight-figure ARR with over 10,000 SMBs now running their businesses on the platform. Its latest product, AI Employees, catapulted from zero to eight-figure ARR in just three months, showing how strongly the market is embracing agent-driven workflows.
The agentic work suite for SMBs
Founded in 2019 by Harry Qi, Omid Rooholfada, and Ethan Yu, at the core of Motion’s success is its integrated design. Unlike bolt-on AI tools, Motion builds agents directly into its applications. The suite already includes an executive assistant that automates scheduling and email replies, a sales rep for managing leads, a support rep for handling customer tickets, and a marketing assistant for content creation. Each “agent” is built with a distinct function yet seamlessly connects with Motion’s ecosystem of documents, sheets, calendars, and business intelligence tools.
Motion connects with widely used platforms like Slack, Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Microsoft Teams, ensuring that SMBs don’t have to overhaul their existing tech stacks. Pricing is flexible, ranging from $29 per month for solopreneurs to $600 for growing teams, with custom enterprise packages available.
By focusing on SMBs, companies without billion-dollar budgets for bespoke AI development, the company is carving out a niche where the demand is huge, and competition less entrenched.
Looking ahead
With $75 million raised to date, Motion plans to scale its engineering and product teams to accelerate development of new agents and applications. The goal is clear: build the first end-to-end agentic work suite that enables businesses to cut through operational noise and focus on strategic, revenue-generating work.
If its current growth continues, Motion could become for AI agents what HubSpot was for inbound marketing, a must-have platform for SMBs worldwide.
“Motion reminds me of HubSpot in its early days—laser-focused on building the best product for SMBs before moving upmarket. When I spoke with Motion customers during diligence, it was clear Motion’s agentic work suite solves a very real problem: these businesses want to use AI to run better, but don’t know where to start. Motion makes that leap possible,” said Stacey Bishop of Scale Venture Partners
“They are one of the best YC companies and amongst the most formidable founders I’ve ever met,” said Michael Seibel, former CEO of Y Combinator
“Motion’s AI Project Manager cut our project delivery time by 30%. The Executive Assistant agent gives me back hours every week to win new clients. It’s the first platform where the AI feels truly built-in, not bolted – and Motion keeps shipping at a pace I’ve never seen before. I can’t wait to bring my entire business operations onto Motion with their upcoming new offerings,” added Joel Peeples, CEO of Ally, an IT Services Company
“Today, big tech and Silicon Valley startups are harnessing AI to build highly efficient businesses. Fortune 500 companies have invested heavily into custom AI Agents built with forward deployed engineers. Our customers are SMBs who make up half of America’s GDP – everyday American businesses like IT services, marketing agencies, and construction companies. They are being left behind in this AI world, and we are going to help them win,” said Harry Qi, CEO and co-founder of Motion.
