Certif-ID, a blockchain-based German platform for international skilled professionals, has successfully raised €1.6 million in seed financing led by NRW-Bank and angel investors Andreas Weinberger, Malte Pollmann, Jörg Will, and Michael Bernhörster.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its activities in Asia and Europe and further develop its technology platform with the continued support of TÜV Rheinland.

Digitise and automate recruitment

According to Tim Miller, Co-Founder and CEO of Certif-ID, the demand for skilled manpower across the world has never been stronger. However, the recruitment, skill verification, and visa issuance processes are slow to adapt. To minimise any adverse economic impact, it is crucial to automate and digitise these processes urgently.

Certif-ID aims to automate and digitise the recruitment process to verify skills and issue visas for internationally skilled professionals in healthcare, engineering, and logistics. The company’s TalentSure product line has over 300,000 registered users from 32 countries and offers 16,000 job offers. The platform utilises blockchain technology to bring transparency and trust to candidates’ application documents.

In addition, Certif-ID offers a SaaS platform, CredSure, that supports companies in digitising credentials and anchoring them to blockchain for instant verification. Education providers can issue digital badges to their graduates, which can be used to showcase and verify their newly acquired competencies that match industry demand.

Certif-ID was founded in 2020 in Cologne and currently employs 20 people in India and Germany. The company’s vision is to provide innovative technology solutions that build trust in international technical recruitment. By digitising credentials, building verifiable talent pipelines, automating skill recognition, and minimising cross-border recruitment efforts, the platform connects verified professionals with employers, streamlines recruitment, and automates processes.

Markus Dohm, Certif-ID’s second Co-Founder, expressed his excitement for being supported by NRW-Bank with their relaunched NRW.SeedCap program. Certif-ID’s successful seed financing will help the company expand its footprint in Asia and Europe, develop its platform further, and automate and digitise recruitment, skill verification, and visa issuance processes.
