Ultrahuman, a metabolic fitness platform, announced on Tuesday that it has launched new wearable, the Ultrahuman Ring.
The company says that the Ultrahuman Ring will measure movement, sleep, and the body’s energy dynamics coupled with activity or recuperating recommendations in real-time to balance and take control of your health.
Mohit Kumar, Founder, and CEO, Ultrahuman comments: “We have always believed in the power of biomarkers in terms of their ability to make health optimization more efficient. With the Ultrahuman ring and a new suite of metabolic biomarkers, you can now understand not just what’s affecting your glucose metabolism but also how to act on the insights in an efficient way. For eg. You could figure out how much of your glucose metabolism is affected by the lack of sleep vs the food itself. This is a phenomenal leap in the world of biomarkers and allows us to study various factors around human health in a unique and much more impactful way than ever.”
No distractions: The wearable doesn’t feature a display or vibrations, and users can check details on the app, ensuring no distraction in daily activities. It also comes with power-packed 5-day battery life.
Designed for tough conditions: The ring is made out of a titanium body coated with tungsten carbide, which is five times harder than tool steel. It is scratch-resistant and can endure rough usage conditions and workouts. Its minimalistic design language ensures comfort during sleep and rest scenarios.
Supports Ultrahuman M1: Ultrahuman Ring works standalone or in combination with the existing advanced glucose monitoring platform, Ultrahuman M1, to offer users even deeper metabolic insights and more precise actionable for optimising your health.
Insights availability: According to the company, some of the insights available with the Ultrahuman ring would be understanding your NEAT ( Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis), sleep efficiency, and food’s impact on recovery and performance.
Price: The Ultrahuman Ring will be available for pre-order globally from 7th July 2022, and shipping will start from August 2022 onwards.
Personalising fitness journey
Founded by Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal (also co-founders at Runnr), Ultrahuman wants to make the fitness journey for people more personalised and impactful.
Previously, the company launched Ultrahuman M1 – a metabolic health tracking platform that provides intelligent nudges based on glucose biomarkers. This helps people optimise their exercise, sleep, and nutrition based on deep insights from the platform. The M1 tracks the wearer’s metabolism as they go about their day.
It triggers timely nudges to the user, such as alerts to a high blood glucose event and suggestions to take a walk to optimising their glucose levels.
To date, the company has raised $25M from a range of investors, including Alpha Wave Incubation (AWI), Steadview Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Blume Ventures and Utsav Somani’s iSeed fund, and a range of marquee founders as well as angel investors, including Tiger Global’s Scott Schleifer.
