London-based VC firm Felix Capital has been officially certified as a B Corp, a prestigious recognition of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. This follows the $600 million fund it closed in 2022.

With $1.2 billion of assets under management, it is the largest European VC to achieve this status. Felix commits to building a venture capital platform that promotes a positive impact and builds strong communities in our society through sustainable practices.

“We are thrilled today to receive B Corp certification,” said Frederic Court, Felix’s Founder and Managing Partner. “Since founding Felix in 2015, we have had the ambition to make a positive impact on the world, through the founders we work with, the team we build and the causes we support. We are proud to be a part of the global B Corp movement and work together towards meaningful change, especially in our own investment and startup communities.”

Focus on diversity

Felix Capital believes in the importance of diversity in building large and successful businesses. While it has backed over 50 teams worldwide, 44% of them include at least 1 founder who is female or not white. One example is the investment in Rally, a US-based e-commerce checkout solution last month. Felix constructs their team with diversity in mind as well and its team of 13 represents members from 9 nationalities, and 62% of them are female and 46% are from minority ethnic backgrounds.

‘Felix for Good’ programme

Felix has been formalising their “Felix for Good” programme, the firm’s take on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives, across 4 core areas of its business – its funds, community, itself and foundation.

Also, the VC firm recognises the limitations of the impact that investment vehicles can achieve on their own. It has set up charity partnerships with the likes of charity:water (donating 1% of carried interest from Felix Fund III), and have made donations towards the war in Ukraine and the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Felix commits to continue to support causes in gender equality, hunger and poverty, environmental and animals, and more.
