London-based Alpa has secured $3.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Daphni, with participation from True, Firedrop, 2100, Oprtrs, and several prominent angels, including former Burger King France CEO Jérôme Tafani. This marks the company’s first-ever raise.

As co-founder and CEO Anton Soulier told TFN, “This is our first funding round, so the $3.5M is the total funding to date.” However, regarding the valuation, he said it will be “Undisclosed at this stage.”

The capital is set to strengthen the company’s financial data infrastructure, deepen supplier integrations, and enhance automation and operator-grade workflows.

Regarding the plans for the next 12 months, he stated, “We are immediately using the funding to strengthen our core product and engineering capabilities. We are already live and in operation with a number of users. Our focus over the next twelve months is on increasing our user base, as we further develop our offering.”

Founders with deep industry experience

Alpa was co-founded by Anton Soulier and Jean-François Moy, who met in 2024. As Soulier shared: “Jean-François Moy and I are the two co-founders of Alpa. We met back in 2024. Previously, I was employee number seven at Deliveroo, where I spent three years launching the company in France. After that, I founded Taster in 2017. It’s a creator-led restaurant chain; we launch unique restaurant brands alongside content creators and chefs. We’ve developed successful restaurant brands like Pepe Chicken, Starsmash, Out Fry and SpudBros Express. We’re active in over 100 European cities and have raised over $60M in venture funding.”

He further added, “Jean-François is co-founder and CTO at Alpa. Previously, he worked at Vestiaire Collective, where he oversaw multi-country teams across the UK, France and Germany. Under his direction, the team developed a resale-as-a-service infrastructure, which was used by the likes of Gucci, Chloé, and MyTheresa.”

Why does hospitality need Alpa now?

The founders built Alpa to solve one of hospitality’s most limiting operational problems: delayed financial visibility. The structural gap has only widened since COVID-19. Detailing the need for the company, Soulier noted: “Recent research shows that 79 per cent of restaurants want real-time data, but 27 per cent say they can’t track basic KPIs. It’s a really restrictive pain point for the industry. Operators aren’t currently armed with the financial information they need, when they need it, to make decisions which improve the bottom line.”

Furthermore, he said, “Given how much the industry has struggled since Covid-19 (according to analysis undertaken by UKHospitality, half of UK job losses between August 2025 and 2026 were in the hospitality sector), restaurant operators badly need all the help they can get, and we’re here to provide that help.”

Building hospitality’s real-time financial engine

Alpa is designed as the financial operating system that the industry has long lacked. The platform consolidates POS data, bank feeds, and supplier integrations into a live operational P&L, providing real-time clarity on margins, labour, overheads, and cash flow.

Unlike accounting systems built for month-end reporting, Alpa is designed for daily operations, enabling restaurant groups to take corrective action instantly. Early-stage pilots include Taster’s SpudBros Express, with the platform already live and in use among initial operators.

As vertical fintech continues reshaping financial services, Alpa is positioning itself to lead the hospitality category with real-time profitability insights, automated workflows, and native supply-chain connectivity.

What about diversity?

Talking about the diversity statistics with us, he added, “Alpa has 4 team members, and three nationalities are represented. As an early-stage company, we are actively focused on building a diverse team as we scale, particularly across engineering and leadership roles.”

“Hospitality runs on thin margins, but financial visibility still operates on monthly cycles,” said Anton Soulier, Co-Founder & CEO of Alpa. “That gap creates massive inefficiency and destroys value. Alpa is built to close it by giving operators real-time financial clarity so they can make decisions during the month, not after it. We’re not replacing accounting systems; we’re building the operational financial layer they’ve always been missing.”

“The real moat is not just data access, it’s native connectivity,” added Jean-François Moy, Co-founder & CTO of Alpa. “We’re building direct connections to the hospitality supply chain itself: POS systems, banking infrastructure, and food and beverage suppliers, and using automation and AI to structure that data into real-time financial understanding. This funding allows us to go deep on engineering, machine learning and large-scale classification to make that possible.”

Pierre-Eric Leibovici, co-founder and partner of Daphni, says, “In terms of track record, you rarely find a founding pair with as much deep industry expertise and technical know-how as Anton and Jean-François. With Alpa, they’re building something which is clearly and urgently needed for an industry with a highly valuable addressable market. With the quality of both the team and the product, we expect Alpa to make a notable impact for restaurants and franchise owners across the continent.”
