Ewake, a Paris-based startup founded by former Criteo engineers, has secured €2 million in pre-seed funding led by Connect Ventures, with participation from Notion Capital, 2100 Ventures, Insiders, and 50partners. The round also saw backing from angel investors, including Amirhossein Malekzadeh.
Ewake emerges from stealth with a mission to reshape how teams manage software reliability. With the fresh funding, Ewake plans to grow its Paris-based team and expand its suite of intelligent agents. The goal is to extend the product’s reach and create new capabilities that help more companies minimise downtime.
AI teammate for software reliability
Ewake’s innovation lies in its “AI teammate,” a suite of intelligent agents that actively monitor production environments and prevent crises before they escalate. Instead of simply collecting and displaying data like traditional observability platforms, Ewake’s agents investigate, interpret, and correlate information in real time.
The agents are designed to work alongside existing engineering tools, helping teams detect issues early and even automate repetitive reliability tasks over time. Unlike static dashboards, these agents evolve as they learn from each deployment, gaining contextual understanding of how a company’s software and business operate. This approach ensures faster recovery from incidents and greater visibility into root causes without overwhelming engineers with endless streams of data.
Founders solving a shared pain point
Ewake was founded by an immigrant woman engineer Pooné Mokari and Omid Gosha, who experienced firsthand the difficulty of maintaining reliability while delivering rapid code updates. Mokari’s expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Gosha’s background in software development provided a unique blend of perspectives.
Their collaboration grew from a shared frustration faced by engineers who often rely on fragmented tools that dump large amounts of telemetry data but offer little actionable insight. By creating Ewake, they aimed to bridge this gap and make reliability accessible to every developer, not just SREs. The result is a system that transforms raw data into collaborative intelligence, allowing developers to take ownership of the reliability process while maintaining speed.
As per the company’s CEO, Mokari, their competitors include Resolve.ai and Phoebe.ai.
A global vision with a diverse core
From its inception, Ewake embraced a global mindset. Its founding team achieves 50-50 gender parity and represents four nationalities across a five-person core team. The startup also benefits from a cross-border investor base spanning the UK and France, reflecting its ambition to serve global software teams from day one.
As software complexity rises, especially with rapid code generation, developers face mounting challenges in diagnosing failures and maintaining stability. Ewake directly addresses this by enabling engineers to engage with reliability as an active, ongoing process rather than a reactive chore. Competitors such as Resolve.ai and Phoebe.ai have made strides in similar areas, but Ewake’s agent-based approach positions it as a more dynamic and integrated solution.

A wave of engineering tools has been launched to tackle this growing phenomenon, but these are invariably delivered as data platforms. This creates ‘data fatigue’, as engineers are required to manually wade through data from multiple platforms, respond when systems fail, and all without a concrete explanation of the root cause and real impact of that failure.
Another issue with the existing tools is that they are not delivered to developers, but instead to site reliability engineers (SREs). This leads to developers who are not incentivised to ensure reliability.”
