The market for fast-charging infrastructure serving electric logistics and commercial vehicle fleets is expanding rapidly. Yet, fragmentation and inefficiencies in existing systems limit the scalability and reliability needed to support growing demand. EcoG, a Munich-based technology company, offers a solution: an operating system designed to manage fast-charging hubs.

Today, the startup secured €16 million in a Series B funding round led by GET Fund, Extantia, and Bayern Kapital. The investment will accelerate global scaling and promote industry-wide standardisation.

Jörg Heuer, CEO and co-founder of EcoG, notes, “This financing round shows how quickly the market is developing. Our technology puts us at the forefront of enabling the transition to efficient, standardised charging infrastructure.”

Currently, EcoG’s technology powers over 25,000 charging systems worldwide, reflecting strong adoption in a market driven by electrified logistics and fleet depots.

Professionalising EV charging infrastructure

Founded by CEO Jörg Heuer and CTO Johannes Hund, EcoG was created from firsthand insight into the complexities of electric vehicle charging networks.

Seeing the pressing need for software that ensures interoperability and reliable performance in real-world conditions, they built EcoG to provide a universal operating system that simplifies the deployment and management of charging stations, enabling a greener transition for road freight transport.

Heuer says, “The early years of e-mobility are now successfully behind us. The next phase is professionalisation combined with sustainable growth, for example, at logistics depots. This is no longer a future trend but increasingly the foundation of business – companies like Amazon are already among the largest CPOs worldwide.”

EcoG’s core offering is a modular and universal operating system that orchestrates fast-charging infrastructure for commercial applications. Designed to handle the high-power demands of electric trucks and complex logistics hubs, this software integrates hardware control with cloud and backend systems, ensuring smooth, interoperable operation.

Unlike competitors such as ChargePoint, EVBox, and ABB, which often deliver more fragmented or less specialised solutions, EcoG’s platform supports all major standards (ISO 15118, OCPP, AFIR, NEVI). It emphasises real-world interoperability and megawatt charging readiness.

Partnerships with major hardware providers such as Siemens and Dover Fueling Solutions reinforce EcoG’s market position. The company also offers a suite of hardware and software development tools that enable manufacturers to prototype and scale reliable charging products rapidly.

What’s next?

EcoG plans to use the fresh funding to expand internationally and open a new testing and development centre in Bavaria. This facility will simulate real operational scenarios to refine megawatt charging and fast-charging hubs in cooperation with industry and logistics partners.

“As an EV driver, I know very well that EV charging has a serious reliability and interoperability problem. EcoG’s operating system has successfully shown how to solve this. They have built a mission-critical platform and become an indispensable partner to OEMs, powering the future of EV charging.” – Carlota Ochoa Neven Du Mont, Principal at Extantia and EcoG board member.
