Every year, millions face conditions like stroke and lung fibrosis, where getting accurate imaging early can mean the difference between recovery and lasting disability. Unfortunately, delays and inconsistent diagnoses often hold back life-saving treatment.

Brainomix, a leader in AI-powered imaging, is tackling this problem with its advanced Brainomix 360 Stroke and e-Lung platforms, which help clinicians make better decisions right where care happens.

The Oxford-based company recently secured an extra £4.8 million in a Series C extension, bringing its total funding to £18.8 million. This round was led by returning investors Parkwalk and Hostplus through the IP Group Hostplus Innovation Fund, with new support from U.S. investor Modi Ventures.

This new funding will accelerate Brainomix’s growth in the U.S., improve customer support, and advance development across its AI imaging products.

Using AI to advance precision medicine

Brainomix was founded by Dr Michalis Papadakis and a team from the University of Oxford with a clear mission: to make expert medical imaging analysis accessible to all. Dr Papadakis, a neuroscientist skilled at translating research into clinical solutions, recognised that rapid, accurate imaging is crucial for emergency stroke care.

His goal was to use artificial intelligence to give every hospital, no matter its expertise, the tools to make faster, more confident treatment decisions. Today, the company’s mission goes beyond stroke care to include lung fibrosis, using AI to improve precision medicine and help more patients around the world.

Brainomix’s main product, Brainomix 360 Stroke, is the world’s first fully automated AI imaging platform that supports stroke assessment throughout the patient’s journey. It helps clinicians quickly identify the stroke type, evaluate severity, and make transfer and treatment decisions with more confidence.

At the same time, e-Lung uses AI-based CT biomarkers to detect and track pulmonary fibrosis, enabling earlier treatment and more consistent decision-making over time.

What sets Brainomix apart is its full automation that fits into hospital workflows, strong clinical validation and real-world evidence of faster treatment and better results, and solid regulatory approvals, including multiple FDA-cleared products used in over 20 countries.

Compared to competitors such as Viz.ai, Aidoc, and RapidAI, Brainomix stands out with broader imaging coverage, strong regulatory credentials, and a wider clinical focus that extends beyond stroke to include lung disease.

What’s next?

With the Series C extension, Brainomix is set to expand its U.S. presence. The company will enhance customer support in the U.S. and European markets, accelerate hospital network integration, and fast-track improvements to its stroke and lung imaging platforms.
