US AI company Anthropic is set to raise far more money than initially planned. According to reports, the AI company has increased its latest fundraising target from $10 billion to $20 billion, driven by strong investor interest.
People familiar with the matter say the round is expected to close soon and would value Anthropic at around $350 billion, placing it among the most valuable private technology companies in the world.
Anthropic is best known for building Claude, its AI assistant, and Claude Code, a widely used tool for developers. The company’s growing influence in enterprise and developer-focused AI is said to be a key reason behind the jump in investor appetite.
The funding round is expected to include major backers such as Sequoia Capital, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and investment firm Coatue, according to the report.
Last year, Anthropic was also reported to have hired legal advisers as part of early preparations for a potential IPO, which could happen as soon as this year. In September, the company announced a $13 billion raise, valuing it at $183 billion.
If the latest round closes as expected, it would mark another major milestone for Anthropic as competition and investment in advanced AI continue to accelerate worldwide.
