Are Prada AI glasses coming soon? Here’s what Zuckerberg’s visit reveals

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan made a rare appearance in the front row at Prada’s Fall/Winter 2026 show during Milan Fashion Week on February 26, drawing attention from both tech and fashion circles.

The appearance coincides with EssilorLuxottica’s recent 10-year renewal of its eyewear licensing deal with Prada. Meta already partners with EssilorLuxottica on Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses that integrate cameras, microphones, speakers, and Meta AI assistants.

Some speculate this could hint at future luxury-branded AI eyewear, but remains purely conjectural.

Zuckerberg x Lorenzo Bertelli

Zuckerberg sat next to Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada’s chief merchandising officer, while wearing matching Prada loafers with his wife.

The couple’s presence, their first at a major fashion week, sparked social media chatter about potential ties between Meta’s AI wearable push and luxury fashion, though no collaboration has been announced or confirmed by either company.

Meta has seen strong adoption of its AI eyewear. According to TechCrunch, the company has sold more than 7 million AI glasses units in 2025, largely through its Ray-Ban and Oakley Meta models.

That growth shows demand is building for smart glasses that look and feel socially acceptable.

A Prada partnership would move Meta further into the luxury segment. Instead of sporty or casual frames, a Prada edition would likely focus on premium materials, refined shapes, and subtle branding aimed at high-end consumers, the report says.

What could Prada Meta AI glasses offer?

While unconfirmed, industry observers note Prada’s minimalist aesthetic (matte metals, clean lines) could appeal to luxury buyers seeking discreet tech integration.

Standard Meta features (translation, summaries) in premium frames would target fashion-forward consumers, though privacy concerns around always-on cameras would intensify.

Building an AI ecosystem

Meta continues expanding its AI wearable ecosystem beyond VR/AR headsets. Zuckerberg’s high-profile fashion week debut keeps luxury AI glasses rumours alive, but for now, it’s just that— a rumour.

No official word from Meta or Prada.
