Tomorrow’s Education, a Berlin-based edtech startup, announced that it has secured €3.4M led by Mediahuis Ventures.

Other investors include the European Education Fund Emerge Education and angel investors Verena Pausder, Celine Flores Willers, and Kai Roemmelt.

How will the funding be used?

The funding will be used to accelerate educating future generations to create solutions for a more sustainable society.

“We have developed a cutting-edge learning platform that offers a revolutionary approach to education. We believe in learning by doing rather than simply taking offline learning to an online platform. Our short, bite-sized 7 to15 minute long lessons are designed for students to learn while simultaneously making an impact in their personal ventures and careers,” says Christian Rebernik, co-founder of Tomorrow’s Education.

“The challenge-based, remote-first learning method ensures that our students gain practical knowledge and real-world experience throughout their studies,” he adds.

Challenge-based learning system

According to the co-founders, the concept came about while homeschooling during the lockdown at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Christian Rebernik and education expert Dr. Thomas Funke in 2020, Tomorrow’s Education has developed a mobile-first, personalised challenge-based learning system that enables people from anywhere in the world to gain a Professional Master’s degree in Sustainability.

According to the company, students can enroll in a flexible learning experience based on real-world challenges. The challenges are designed by impact-driven industry leaders from top companies such as Tier Mobility, Wandelbots, and Share.
