- Regulate has raised €1.4M in a seed round led by 4impact.vc.
- The Munich-based company has already delivered over 50,000 breathwork sessions in less than a year and built an enterprise pipeline worth more than €9M in ARR potential.
- The funding will help Regulate expand across Europe, strengthen its product, and scale live workplace performance programs.
As workplace pressure intensifies across Europe, Munich-based Regulate has secured €1.4M in seed funding to build what it sees as the next layer of workplace performance infrastructure.
The round was led by 4impact.vc and included angel investors such as Hanno Renner, co-founder and CEO of Personio, Mike Wax, co-founder of Forto, Felix Haas, and Marlena Hien, co-founder, Bears with Benefits.
According to Gallup’s 2026 State of the Global Workplace report, only one in three employees worldwide reports thriving at work, with low engagement costing an estimated $10 trillion in untapped productivity annually. Regulate’s argument is that breathwork is the most direct, accessible lever for closing that gap.
Founded in 2024 by Peter van Woerkum and Paul Laechelin, Regulate focuses on helping professionals manage stress, concentration, and recovery during the workday. Together, they built Regulate around a belief that breathing techniques can become a practical workplace tool rather than a standalone wellness activity.
“As pressures mount and AI raises the bar for what organisations can produce, expectations on professionals have never been higher. We’re building Regulate to help people meet these demands sustainably by embedding it into the way teams already work, not adding another source of stress,” says Woerkum.
The platform delivers more than 60 guided breathing protocols lasting between 90 seconds and 60 minutes. Unlike traditional meditation or wellness apps such as Calm and Headspace, Regulate is designed to respond to the rhythm of the workday itself. The app integrates with wearables and workplace systems to recommend exercises based on physiological signals and calendar demands. A user preparing for a major presentation may receive a focus protocol, while someone finishing an intense meeting could be guided toward a recovery session.
The startup is already being used by organisations including Raiffeisen Bank International, Personio, and Vattenfall, alongside global consulting firms. Regulate competes against broader wellness and mindfulness platforms but differentiates itself through workplace-specific interventions, wearable integration, and organisational analytics dashboards that help employers monitor adoption and resilience trends without exposing individual employee data.
“What convinced me was the science. Breathwork has a direct, measurable effect on how people think and perform under pressure and Regulate has built the right product to bring that into the workplace. I introduced it at Personio because I know it works,” says Hanno Renner, co-founder & CEO, Personio.
Victor Straatman, Partner at 4impact.vc, adds: “We back companies where business model and positive impact align. Regulate improves how people perform and how they feel, allowing them to thrive in a fast changing work environment. The data shows that at scale, this is a very compelling combination and solution for overall wellbeing.”
The new funding will be used to improve its platform, strengthen personalised session capabilities, expand its live breathwork formats for enterprise teams, hire additional talent, and accelerate expansion across the DACH region and the wider European market.
