The cybersecurity market is undergoing rapid change, driven by sophisticated threats and regulatory developments such as the NIS2 directive in Europe, which imposes stricter cybersecurity requirements on organisations. The MSSP market is experiencing significant growth and is expected to reach $52.9 billion by 2028. Sekoia.io, a European expert in cybersecurity technologies and developer of the Sekoia AI-SOC platform, has targeted this segment with a distinctive approach that enables rapid scaling through an indirect distribution model.
Sekoia.io has raised €26M from Revaia, with participation from UNEXO and support from existing investors Bright Pixel Capital, Omnes Capital, and Bpifrance. This Series B round brings the total funding to €60 million since the company’s founding.
With this investment, Sekoia.io will enhance its AI and automation capabilities to address the cybersecurity talent shortage, expand beyond Europe using its successful French business model, and increase partnerships with MSSPs to make high-performance cybersecurity accessible to companies of all sizes.
Freddy Milesi, founder and CEO of Sekoia.io, stated: “This fundraising will allow us to invest in the technological development of our platform — particularly in agent-based AI. Out of 4 million real threats detected by the platform in 2024, 25% were detected automatically thanks to our exclusive AI and intelligence technologies!
We want to accelerate this momentum while expanding our international activities beyond Europe. Our ambition is clear: recruiting hundreds of service partners who are our growth drivers internationally and to boost their managed SOC offerings through the Sekoia.io platform.”
How Sekoia.io leverages AI and intelligence to combat modern cyber threats
Sekoia.io was co-founded in 2022 by Freddy Milesi (CEO) and Thérèse Favet (CFO) in France. The founders bring over 15 years of cybersecurity experience. Milesi led Sekoia.io’s transformation from a consulting firm (founded in 2008) to a software company specialising in cyber threat intelligence and extended detection and response (XDR). Their expertise demonstrates a commitment to using advanced technology to combat evolving cyber threats.
The company emerged from recognising the growing cyber threat landscape and lacking practical tools for real-time alert correlation within security teams. By emphasising automation, intelligence, and interoperability, the company aims to simplify cybersecurity operations while staying ahead of evolving threats. This vision led to the development of Sekoia.io as a comprehensive cybersecurity platform for threat detection, response, and intelligence.
The startup essentially empowers organisations with innovative cybersecurity solutions for real-time threat detection and response. The company enhances security operations through tools that combine intelligence, automation, and contextualised insights. Their core mission is to protect organisations from sophisticated cyber threats while ensuring interoperability across security solutions.
Unlike the competitors, the company stands out by making cybersecurity accessible to organisations of all sizes, from large enterprises to SMEs, through security providers (MSSPs). By providing these MSSPs with a flexible, quickly deployable platform, Sekoia.io enables them to participate in the growing outsourced cybersecurity market.
Behind Sekoia platform: cyber defense through an automated and open approach
The Sekoia AI-SOC Platform transforms cyber defense by revolutionising Security Operations teams’ work. It provides a centralised view of an organisation’s entire information system. It automates advanced threat detection using exclusive Cyber Threat Intelligence data on cybercriminal groups and state espionage, produced by one of Europe’s most respected private CTI teams.
The platform significantly reduces incident response times using generative and agent-based AI technologies that learn from and understand an organisation’s security posture. The platform enhances SOC Analysts’ productivity through AI guidance rather than replacement in a talent-scarce market.
It offers organisational flexibility through an open, collaborative approach. Whether companies are migrating SIEMs or building new security infrastructure, the platform’s interoperability with third-party solutions (over 200 native integrations) maximises returns on existing investments.
Operating in four European countries, Sekoia.io employs over a hundred people and partners with about fifty MSSPs. Its clients include major organisations such as EDF, Vinci, SNCF, Mirakl, Marlink, and the French Ministry of Armed Forces. The company aims to lead the emerging AI-Native Security Platform market for managed SOCs.
Hadrien Comte, Principal at Revaia, commented: “We are proud to support Sekoia.io in this new phase of growth and to accelerate its expansion in Europe. Cybersecurity is a critical issue for companies of all sizes, and Sekoia.io provides an innovative solution by democratising access to advanced protection through AI and automation. Sekoia.io offers a unique and scalable approach that enhances SMEs’ resilience against growing cyber threats. We are excited to support Freddy and the entire team in their ambition to build a European leader in cybersecurity.”
