Tamnoon, a cloud security remediation company, has raised $12 million in Series A funding, led by Bright Pixel Capital. Other participants include Blu Ventures, Mindset Ventures, and existing investors. Founded by industry veterans, Tamnoon aims to improve cloud security by combining artificial intelligence (AI) with human oversight to address cloud misconfigurations that could lead to security risks.
The company’s hybrid model integrates AI and human intelligence (HI), providing a more nuanced approach to cloud security. While automation is attractive in cloud security, relying solely on it poses operational risks. Human oversight mitigates these risks by ensuring that critical business environments remain stable during remediation efforts.
CEO and co-founder Marina Segal noted that this approach allows Tamnoon to reduce critical cloud threats significantly: “Neither fully automated nor human-driven cloud remediation approaches alone can address the complexity of cloud security posture management programs.” The company claims to reduce cloud exposures by 90% within 90 days of deployment.

What problem is the startup trying to solve
As more organizations migrate to the cloud, they face the challenge of managing a growing number of security risks, including misconfigurations that expose systems to potential attacks. It’s estimated that many cloud security alerts take around 145 hours (approximately six days) to resolve, which can result in operational inefficiencies. Poorly handled automation in complex cloud environments can cause outages or other critical issues, which has made companies cautious about fully automated solutions.
Tamnoon addresses these concerns by streamlining the remediation process with both AI-driven solutions and human expertise. The company’s solution is particularly focused on reducing the time it takes to resolve cloud security alerts, making it an essential tool for organizations grappling with cloud security complexities. Marcos de Castro Osório, Investment Director at Bright Pixel, pointed out the efficiency gains, noting that Tamnoon “ensures remediations are efficient and minimize the risk of disrupting production environments.”
Meeting market demand with hybrid solutions
The cloud security market is expanding rapidly. According to Gartner, spending on cloud security is expected to increase by 24% in 2024, making it the fastest-growing segment in the global security market. As organizations increasingly turn to cloud-native applications, they require solutions that go beyond visibility and detection of cloud risks, focusing on effective remediation.
Tamnoon’s service integrates with a wide range of cloud-native security tools, including those from leading providers such as AWS, Microsoft, and Google. This broad integration ensures that Tamnoon’s services can be easily adopted across various industries. Clients such as Warner Music Group have seen tangible benefits from this approach. Brian DiPietro, Global Chief Information Security Officer at Warner Music, highlighted the improvements, saying, “Tamnoon’s innovative blend of hybrid human/AI managed service has delivered real, measurable results in a fast and efficient way for our organization.”
Accelerating growth and innovation
With this latest funding round, which brings Tamnoon’s total investment to over $18 million, the company plans to accelerate its product development and expand its cloud security partnerships. A key focus is Tamnoon Prevent, a patent-pending tool designed to prevent cloud vulnerabilities by stopping non-secure configurations in real time before they are deployed. This innovation represents a significant step in proactive cloud security management, helping organizations not only remediate but also prevent future issues.
Looking ahead, Tamnoon is set to continue expanding its customer base, which already spans industries such as insurance, healthcare, entertainment, and retail. By offering a hybrid approach that fuses AI with human expertise, the company aims to help businesses enhance their cloud security posture while maintaining operational efficiency.
What do we think about the startup
Tamnoon’s success highlights the growing demand for sophisticated cloud security solutions that balance automation with human oversight. As organizations continue to move workloads to the cloud, the need for rapid and reliable security remediation becomes more critical.
By integrating AI with human intelligence, Tamnoon offers a solution that not only addresses immediate security risks but also positions companies to prevent future exposures. With new funding, the company is well-positioned to scale its operations and continue driving innovation in the cloud security space.
