UK-based AI infrastructure startup Nscale has announced a $433 million pre-Series C SAFE financing round, just days after closing its $1.1 billion Series B financing round, the largest ever raised by a European AI infrastructure vendor. The new capital comes from existing and new investors, including Blue Owl Managed Funds, Dell, NVIDIA, and Nokia.

Nscale addresses the intensifying need for sovereign, hyperscale AI computing infrastructure tailored to the requirements of next-generation AI models. Current cloud hyperscalers and data centre providers face limitations in delivering contiguous GPU clusters at scale, as well as energy efficiency and strict regulatory compliance demanded by enterprise and government customers.

Nscale’s solution is a vertically integrated infrastructure platform that delivers compute, networking, storage, managed software, and AI services through its own data centres, strategically located across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

Founder and CEO Josh Payne leverages deep expertise in capital markets, recruitment, and HPC infrastructure to drive the company’s mission: creating a sovereign AI-native platform capable of supporting transformative AI workloads.

Today, Nscale operates more than 50 data centres and maintains strategic partnerships with NVIDIA, Dell, Microsoft, Nokia, and OpenAI. Flagship initiatives include the Stargate UK facility, designed to house up to 31,000 GPUs, and Stargate Norway, targeting nearly 100,000 GPUs by 2027, which aims to train and deploy advanced large language models and other cutting-edge AI applications.

The latest funding round will accelerate Nscale’s aims to anchor the foundation of the global AI ecosystem, enabling sectors such as healthcare, financial services, robotics, and autonomous vehicles to access next-generation AI infrastructure.
