Doctors across Europe spend hours each day typing up patient notes, a workload that often leads to stress and fatigue. Noteless’ tool listens during appointments and creates clean, accurate medical notes on the spot, saving clinicians up to two hours a day.

Today, this Norwegian healthtech startup has secured €3.5M in seed funding to widen the reach of its AI-powered clinical documentation platform. The round was led by Redstone, with continued backing from Futurum Ventures and Farvatn Venture.

Freeing clinicians from everyday paperwork

Founded in 2023 by William Vossgård, Mikkel Slettebø, and Sarankan Sivakanesan, Noteless emerged from the need to reduce the administrative burden overwhelming healthcare professionals while improving patient care. Vossgård and his team noticed how excessive documentation demands detract from meaningful patient interaction and cause clinician burnout.

Noteless’s technology combines real-time speech recognition with natural language processing to convert doctor-patient conversations into structured, high-quality medical notes automatically. Beyond GPs, specialists, physiotherapists, and psychologists, other professionals are also adopting the tool to streamline their daily work.

Vossgård told TFN, “Noteless is built specifically for European clinicians. That means it’s multilingual, compliant with local regulations, and designed around the most common workflows here. While our core focus today is on documentation, we’re ultimately building a broader ecosystem that supports clinicians across more aspects of their daily work.”

Unlike Nuance Communications (Dragon Medical) and Suki AI, Noteless has achieved rapid adoption in Scandinavian countries, encompassing general practitioners, specialists, physiotherapists, and psychologists, and has achieved seamless integration into multiple European healthcare systems.

Since launching in mid-2024, the system has processed more than 3 million consultations and has become one of the fastest-growing healthtech tools in Scandinavia. Noteless has expanded quickly, now working with around 3,000 clinicians across Norway, Denmark, the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The company claims that its AI scribe already handles more than 100,000 patient consultations per week, helping doctors reduce paperwork and burnout.

What about diversity?

On diversity, Vossgård commented, “At Noteless, we are 39 employees representing 7 countries (Norway, Denmark, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Sri Lanka and France), with the majority based in Norway. Our team spans an age range of 23 to 60 years. Our workforce consists of approximately 69% men and 31% women. We embrace diversity across backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We strive to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels respected and supported.”

What’s next?

The fresh investment will help Noteless scale its service across Europe as demand for automated medical documentation grows.

“Noteless is solving one of the biggest inefficiencies in healthcare through AI-driven technology,” said Lucas Paul, Investment Director at Redstone. “The company’s innovative approach and rapid adoption show it is well-positioned to redefine clinical documentation across Europe.”
