  • London-based MintNeuro has raised $5 million in a funding round led by Odyssey Ventures.
  • The Imperial College London spinout develops specialised chips for neural implants and wearables.
  • The funding will accelerate commercialisation, expand shipments to development partners and strengthen its US presence.

MintNeuro has raised $5 million to scale its semiconductor platform for neural devices, addressing a hardware bottleneck that can slow the development of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and other medical technologies.

The round was led by Odyssey Ventures, with participation from JSK Investments, 33East and Alumni Ventures. Existing investors Empirical Ventures, Jumpspace Ventures and earlier backers also reinvested.

The funding will support product launches, delivery of pre-production chips to partners, engineering expansion and international growth, particularly in the US. The company has already developed working silicon and reached integration milestones with Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics.

Meet the founders behind MintNeuro

Founded in 2022 as an Imperial College London spinout, MintNeuro was co-founded by Dr Dorian Haci and Professor Tim Constandinou, building on research into next-generation neural interfaces. Haci is CEO, while Constandinou brings expertise in bioelectronics and neural engineering.

The company is developing a modular semiconductor platform that combines neural sensing, signal processing and electrical stimulation, helping device makers avoid the expense and lengthy development cycles of designing custom chips.

“The main obstacle holding back neurotechnology today is not a lack of ideas, but hardware. MintNeuro is addressing this gap with a platform on which the entire industry can build. We were convinced to invest by its strong technology team, working chips and first long-term commercial contract,” said Petra Cihlářová, Investment Director of the Venture Capital Sub-Fund at JSK Investments SICAV a.s.

The hardware behind next-generation neurotech

Neural devices could help diagnose or treat conditions including Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, depression and hearing loss. Imperial College London notes that neurological conditions affect more than one billion people worldwide, highlighting the potential reach of technologies that interface directly with the nervous system.

However, developers often face a choice between generic components not designed for use in the body and expensive, time-consuming custom chip development. MintNeuro aims to provide purpose-built, low-power chips that help make neural devices smaller and accelerate their progression from research towards clinical use.

“We are delighted to join the JSK portfolio and gain the backing of an investor with a strong network across Europe and the United States, where we are now expanding our operations. With its healthcare connections and experience as both investors and entrepreneurs, our partnership with JSK will help us bring our chips closer to the developers and clinicians shaping the future of neural devices,” said Dorian Haci, Co-founder and CEO of MintNeuro.

The neurotechnology funding race

MintNeuro operates in a broader neurotechnology market attracting significant investment. Precision Neuroscience raised $250 million in Series D funding in September 2026, taking its total funding to $430 million as it advances its minimally invasive brain-computer interface. Science Corporation raised $230 million in Series C funding in March 2026 to advance its retinal implant technology and clinical trials.

Although these companies target different applications, they illustrate investor interest in the hardware and interfaces needed to connect technology with the human nervous system.

“We see neurological conditions affecting people even during their working lives. Neurotechnology has enormous potential to transform the lives of millions of patients, but without cutting-edge hardware, these innovations will remain in the laboratory. MintNeuro is building an essential foundation without which the entire field cannot move forward,” added Simona Kijonková, Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Investment Officer of JSK Investments SICAV a.s.

With working chips, commercial partnerships and fresh capital, MintNeuro is moving towards its next challenge: turning specialised neural hardware into a scalable platform for medical-device developers.
