Legora, the agentic operating system for legal professionals, has raised $550 million in Series E funding at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Atreides Management, with participation from new investors Baron Capital, Capital Research, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Glade Brook Capital Partners. Existing backers, including Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Sands Capital, also participated.
Founded in 2023 by Max Junestrand and Sigge Labor, Legora launched its platform in October 2024. It now employs more than 1,000 people across 18 offices and serves over 140,000 legal professionals at more than 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams across 80-plus markets.
“AI is changing the role of the lawyer, with more time for judgement and advice, and it is reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organised and how their work gets done. We intend to lead that shift in the US and globally,” said Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-Founder of Legora.
From $675M to $8.8B
Legora’s latest raise follows a remarkable funding trajectory. As covered by TFN, the company secured an $80 million Series B at a $675 million valuation in 2025, followed by a $150 million Series C at a $1.8 billion valuation. In March 2026, a $550 million Series D at a $5.55 billion valuation marked another major milestone. The round was subsequently expanded to $600 million, with Nvidia’s venture arm and Atlassian joining the investor base.
Legora grew from $1 million to $100 million in ARR in less than 18 months, adding another $100 million in under six months. Its latest valuation compares with $5.6 billion at the previous round.
Harvey and other legal AI rivals intensify competition
Legora faces growing competition from Harvey, which raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation, and Norm Ai, which secured $120 million to develop AI agents for regulated industries. European challenger Lexroom raised $50 million in Series B funding to expand AI-powered legal research.
“Legora has become the platform that law firms and in-house legal teams adopt and then expand across their organisations, and it has done so while growing at remarkable speed. Legora has also built a sustainable business along the way, with the discipline to scale fast and stay efficient. We are excited to support the team as Legora enters its next stage of growth in the US and globally,” said Atreides Managing Partner and CIO Gavin Baker.
Legal AI market opportunity and outlook
According to Thomson Reuters’ 2025 Generative AI in Professional Services Report, generative AI adoption among surveyed legal organisations increased from 14% in 2024 to 26% in 2025.
The growing adoption creates opportunities for Legora to embed AI into legal research, document review and multi-step workflows. However, data security, accuracy, regulatory compliance and demonstrable returns on investment will determine whether rapid adoption translates into sustainable revenue.
The new capital will support expansion across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, alongside investment in agentic intake, horizon scanning and legal research.
“Growth only counts if the business underneath it holds up. We have passed $200 million in ARR, and we want every dollar of it to be a durable one. That means healthy gross margins, high retention, and a cost structure that gets stronger as we scale. This round lets us keep building that way,” said CFO David Eckstein.
