Kyan Health raises new funding to expand its AI-powered workplace wellness platform, which can deliver an impressive 11.6% ROI, revolutionising workplace wellness with proactive, measurable mental health care solutions.
Zurich-based Kyan Health has secured $16.7M to drive down lost workdays and productivity through AI-powered workplace wellness preventative care, marking a significant step forward in addressing mental health challenges within enterprises. Amid a landscape where one in five workdays is lost to poor mental health, Kyan Health aims to replace outdated, reactive wellness models with a proactive, measurable approach that connects employee well-being to business success.
The funding round includes a previously unannounced $4M seed round led by Amplo VC and a $12.7M Series A led by Swisscom Ventures, with participation from GreyMatter Capital, naturalX Health Ventures, Founderful, and Joyance Partners, and several angel investors. This latest investment brings Kyan’s total funding to $18.4M, which will fuel global expansion and further development of its platform.
AI-powered platform- fixing the broken model of workplace wellness
Despite employers collectively spending over $94B annually on workplace wellness programmes, many continue to struggle with absenteeism, turnover, and presenteeism. The reactive nature of most solutions has left businesses unable to prevent or measure the impact of mental health challenges on productivity.
“Mental health isn’t a fluffy perk—it’s the backbone of a thriving workforce,” said Vlad Gheorghiu, CEO and Co-Founder of Kyan Health. “When I struggled personally, and later when I led a global mental health programme, I saw firsthand how inadequate the tools were to address real challenges. This investment is about changing that—creating the tools I wish had existed, making mental health measurable, and giving organisations the power to act before crises hit.”
AI-powered workplace mental health support with measurable impact
At the heart of Kyan Health’s platform is Kai, an AI-powered care navigator that offers employees confidential access to tailored mental health resources, such as counselling, certified coaching, and crisis support. The AI-powered workplace wellness platform operates with end-to-end encryption, ensuring privacy while only sharing aggregated insights with employers to help them optimise workplace conditions.
Notable enterprise clients like Hitachi Energy, Hilti, STADA, Deutsche Börse Group, and On [a Swiss performance sportswear company] have already adopted Kyan’s solution. For On, Kyan’s platform achieved a 50% employee engagement rate and delivered $2.9M in annual value through enhanced productivity, reduced attrition, and cost savings—a compelling 11.6x return on investment (ROI).
“We decided to work with Kyan, as they are the only provider that truly supports the organisational and individual angle at the same time with an end-to-end solution,” said Achim Braun, CHRO of Hitachi Energy, overseeing 40,000 employees globally. “We’ve been working with Kyan since 2022 and we are excited to continue our partnership!”
A paradigm shift in corporate mental health
Kyan Health was co-founded by Vlad Gheorghiu, Konstantin Struck, and Ignacio Leonhardt. Vlad, a former leader of McKinsey’s global mental health program, experienced firsthand the challenges of managing mental health in high-pressure environments. Together with Konstantin, a former Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, and Ignacio, a serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Handy.com, they launched Kyan Health with a mission to provide both individualised care and systemic solutions that address organisational needs.
The Series A funding will enable Kyan Health to expand its platform, enhance AI capabilities, and scale globally. According to Swisscom Ventures’ Investment Director, Victoria Lietha, who led the funding round and joined Kyan’s board, “Kyan Health is transforming how businesses support mental health and well-being by providing predictive, scalable solutions that address the needs of global enterprises. We’re excited to back a company that’s at the forefront of this shift.”
By shifting from reactive measures to predictive solutions, Kyan Health enables businesses to address workforce challenges before they affect the bottom line. This forward-thinking approach positions mental health as a measurable driver of business performance, redefining how organisations view employee well-being.
With the global demand for mental health solutions continuing to grow, Kyan Health’s innovative AI-powered workplace wellness platform aims to provide actionable insights and AI-driven tools that benefit both employees and organisations.
