Heyflow, a Hamburg-based no-code solution that helps convert visitors into customers, has closed a $16 million Series A round. Early-stage VC Singular led the round. Coming two years after a $6 million investment by Project A Ventures and Atlantic Labs, the funding will be used to expand Heyflow’s customer base and to continue enhancing their platform.
TFN asked CEO and co-founder Amir Bohnenkamp to tell us more about Heyflow.
Creating conversions on autopilot
Websites have become more and more complex, with technology enabling features and functions that previously were only available in dedicated apps, and customers expecting more functionality. The problem, however, is that adding that functionality is hard, making development time-consuming and costly.
Bohnenkamp was working at healthcare recruitment platform Medwing and needed to develop a solution that would convert traffic into leads and applications. “My solution was an interactive and intuitive experience,” Bohnenkamp said. “Well-designed, results-oriented and simple: a ‘flow’ users could click through, question by question – and it worked.”
The difficulty was that it was costly to build, maintain, and develop. Discussing the issue with Heyflow co-founder Dustin Jaacks, they realised the potential in a solution that allowed everyone to design a flow that people could engage with. In 2020, they founded Niro, later renaming the company to Heyflow to reflect the drag-and-drop, no-code process they had created.
Heyflow has since grown into a company of 46 people of 20 different nationalities, a diverse team serving customers, including global names like Rocket Mortgage, Adecco, Crédit Agricole and BCG Digital Ventures, in more than 60 countries.
The platform enables the no-code creation of flows, which can increase conversion rates and integrate the data captured with analytics and workflow tools to create an all-in-one platform.
Although Heyflow makes the process easy, with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface to build flows alongside additional features like A/B testing, their ambition is for clients to be able to put conversions on autopilot. Their plans for Heyflow will see it effortlessly generating leads, streamlining the process even further, allowing it to build on the data gathered and providing actionable insights, while automating functions behind the scenes, and liberating their customers’ resources to focus on their core business.
Removing the cost from customer conversion
For many businesses, acquiring leads and conversions is a costly part of their day-to-day activities, with only a small fraction of visits resulting in a new customer. Heyflow’s tools aim to provide an end-to-end solution that both increases conversation and lowers the cost.
A significant saving comes from the no-code interface, which reduces the need for software engineers by allowing for rapid development and iteration. “Working with a no-code software tool is like building with Lego blocks,” Bohnenkamp said. “You can create complex structures without needing to know how to build them from scratch. What they’re building is seen in real-time.”
Collectively, it means that companies can build, deploy, and test Heyflow’s interactive features rapidly, using almost real-time feedback to see what does, and doesn’t work, optimising their flows to meet the needs of their audience, and their business.
“By strategically focusing its R&D on addressing previously unmet needs in disparate software, Heyflow has emerged as the comprehensive, all-in-one solution empowering customers to effortlessly generate conversions at scale,” said Raffi Kamber of VC Singular. “Undoubtedly, Heyflow is at the forefront, pioneering a new era in efficient and impactful conversion optimisation for companies.”
Heyflow plans to use the latest funding to continue its growth trajectory and further develop its platform. With success so far based on the ease of use and results of their existing platform, they expect that growth to continue as they add advanced features and additional integrations while enhancing the creative control that their clients have with the Heyflow platform, keeping them in their leading position within the no-code market.
“Securing Series A funding has paved the way for Heyflow to ramp up product development and extend its reach into fresh markets,” says Bohnenkamp. “The company is committed to enriching its no-code platform, introducing sophisticated features and integrations that afford users greater flexibility and creative autonomy.”
