FriskAI raises $3.6M from MaC Venture Capital to watch what AI agents do

  • FriskAI emerged from stealth with $3.6 million in pre-seed funding to track what AI agents do once deployed.
  • MaC Venture Capital led the round, targeting the healthcare, insurance, and finance sectors.
  • It joins a field that has raised over $175 million in 2026 alone.

Enterprises have spent the past year handing AI agents access to their databases, internal tools, and customer systems. Almost none of them can say with confidence what those agents actually did with it. FriskAI wants to close that gap, and it has raised $3.6 million in pre-seed funding to build the tooling to do so.

MaC Venture Capital, which has backed companies including Pipe, Blavity and IronVest, led the round, joined by Wischoff Ventures, NEA partner Rick Yang and a group of strategic angel investors.

“Companies can monitor servers, applications, and employees, but they lack runtime intelligence for AI agents,” said Neel Palrecha, FriskAI’s founder and chief executive.

The opportunity is bigger than one startup. The agentic AI security market is projected to grow from $1.65 billion in 2026 to $13.52 billion by 2032, according to MarketsandMarkets. Regulated industries are moving agents out of pilots and into production, and discovering the monitoring tools they already own were built for software that follows a script, not for one that decides things on its own.

Making AI agents visible in production

Palrecha founded FriskAI in 2025 in Los Angeles, after years shipping production systems at Apple, Headspace, Snapdocs, and PlayVS, where uptime and correctness weren’t optional.

The startup works by sitting between an agent and the tools it touches, logging every action so security and compliance teams can see what happened, when, and whether it fell outside expected behaviour.

Jason Moore, a staff software engineer at Sana Benefits, is already using it. “FriskAI gives us the operational visibility we’ve been missing, helping us troubleshoot issues faster and deploy AI with confidence instead of guesswork,” he said.

FriskAI is a small player in a field that’s filling up fast. Manifold raised $8 million to secure agents at the endpoint. Geordie AI closed a $30 million Series A for agent governance. NeuralTrust, which TFN covered when it announced what it calls Europe’s largest cybersecurity seed round, raised $20 million for a similar control layer.

Oasis Security took in $120 million for machine-identity management, and InfiniteWatch, another company TFN broke the news on, raised $4 million for agent observability aimed at customer interactions.

Most of that list is solving something adjacent — identity, endpoint defence, customer-facing monitoring. FriskAI’s bet is narrower: that a plain, readable record of what an agent did is the thing enterprises will want before they trust anything else.

Funding the infrastructure behind AI

Marlon Nichols, managing partner at MaC Venture Capital, compares the moment to earlier infrastructure booms.

“Every technology cycle mints a small group of companies that sell what everyone else ends up depending on, like AWS in the Cloud era and Cisco during the internet boom. Agents are the next cycle… none of that happens until enterprises can put real weight behind them and trust them with decisions that matter,” he said.

The $3.6 million in FriskAI’s total funding to date will go toward expanding its engineering and go-to-market teams. Whether it’s enough to build that trust before Geordie or Oasis lock down the same customers is a different question entirely.
