Phacet, a French startup specialising in personalised AI solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has announced a seed round of €4 million. It is claimed to be the first European customised AI application platform that enables SMEs to build, deploy, manage and use AI apps.

Investment details

The investment came from 148 business angels from sectors, including tech, finance, insurance, data, and retail. The investors include Thibaud Elzière (Hexa), Des Traynor (Intercom), Florian Douetteau (Dataiku), Philippe Corrot (Mirakl), Rodolphe Ardant (Spendesk), Damien Marc (JPB Système) and Guillaume Moubèche (Lempire).

Investment funds participating in the round include Motier Ventures (which invested in Dust, Flexi, and Filigran) Aglaé Ventures, Emblem, Origins, Kima, Financière Saint James, Robin Capital, and BetterAngle.

Thibaud Elzière, Founder of startup studio Hexa and well-known investor, adds: “Phacet is not only an AI company, the founding team with their experience in software also understood the importance of being a partner of companies by supporting them from A to Z in their transformation. Beyond the AImodels, they help to identify priority impact areas and have created the ideal user interfaces for employees to use.”

Who is behind the company?

Phacet was founded by a trio recognised for their expertise in AI, but also have experience in building and managing B2B platforms. They include Christophe Lanternier, the first employee and former data science leader at Ubble (acquired by Checkout.com in 2022), William Pambrun, the co-founder of Inato, where he led product and engineering growing the team to over 50 people, and Nicolas Marchais, the first employee and former executive at Spendesk, a French unicorn.

Customised AI application platform for SMEs

Phacet’s mission is to make AI accessible, flexible, and transformative for business efficiency. It helps businesses to build personalised AI solutions, ensuring maximum impact and seamless integration into daily operations.

The startup works with clients to identify essential applications to improve business processes. Customers are then able to attend an AI Bootcamp on Phacet’s platform, which co-builds AI applications with their team of AI engineers and client team. The use of one central platform with a single supplier ensures a consistent experience, data connectivity, and cost control for businesses.

Phacet’s AI applications are designed to enhance human capabilities by automating repetitive tasks while letting employees focus on high-value-added missions. Teams are supported in integrating AI into the heart of existing processes, with an approach that emphasises the complementary relationship between humans and machines.

Phacet has already proved its effectiveness with European companies such as Smartbox, which has seen its operations transformed thanks to customised AI applications for e-commerce and retail operations, finance, and customer service.

By 2025, Phacet aims to complete its range of ready-to-use AI applications across sectors such as e-commerce/retail, industry, finance, and services.

Nicolas Marchais, Founder and CEO of Phacet, said: “The support of our investors will allow us to advance our mission to build a bridge between fast-evolving AI models and the concrete needs of SMEs. This will enable them to move from the desire to integrate AI to its implementation in different departments.”
