Currently, it is estimated that 32% of women in France feel anxious about managing their health (compared to 20% of men). Women not only need to have access to comprehensive healthcare, but they are also entitled to demand that their specific physical and physiological needs be taken into account.
Addressing this public health challenge, a French female health startup Sorella offers a network of multidisciplinary health centres dedicated to women.
New clinics in France
Now, Sorella has closed €5 million in funding led by blisce/, a certified B Corp impact investment firm from France alongside Vorwerk Ventures, a Berlin-based, independent VC firm that recently backed DUDE CHEM and Resourcify.
Sorella will use the fresh funding to further strengthen its coordinated care offering, enhance its digital platform and expand its network of multidisciplinary health clinics for women to significantly accelerate its development in France. In addition, the company will open 3 new clinics in 2024 to reach a dozen across France by 2026.
Dedicated health spaces for women
Founded in 2022 by Clémence Lejeune, Jeanne Theuret, and Youssef Benhaddou, Sorella provides a hybrid healthcare offering with a network of multidisciplinary health clinics. It gives every woman, irrespective of age, access to a comprehensive care pathway from professionals. It specialises in a range of concerns from puberty to post-menopause.
The hybrid care system integrates the performance of new technological solutions to simplify the workflow for healthcare professionals and improve the healthcare pathway. The digital solutions also facilitate information sharing to patients, prevention and health screenings that are key to improving women’s health. As per the company, up to 10,000 patients can be welcomed each year in a Sorella clinic.
Its care offering includes gynaecology, cardiology, general medicine, physiotherapy, psychology, and dietetics.
