Evertrust lands €10M to scale sovereign digital identity infrastructure across Europe

As companies digitise nearly every system and service, the certificates that verify and encrypt their online communications have become short‑lived. Their lifespan is also shrinking, from 398 days today to just 47 by 2029. That growing pressure is what Evertrust was built for.

The French cybersecurity company develops software that automates the issuance, management, and renewal of digital certificates for organisations. Its integrated platform, combining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), gives companies full control over their digital trust systems while keeping operations running smoothly.

Today, Evertrust raised a €10 million Series A round led by Elephant to fuel the expansion across Europe and reinforce its role in building the region’s sovereign digital trust capabilities.

Making Europe digitally autonomous

Evertrust was founded in Paris in 2017 by Kamel FerchoucheJean‑Julien Alvado, and Étienne Laviolette, who identified a market gap. Large organisations depended on U.S. or global vendors for their certificate management, leaving governments and corporations with limited sovereignty over systems that underpin national security and economic stability.

From the start, Evertrust focused on developing tools that could serve not just secure communications but an entire ecosystem. As of 2025, its technology secures some of the country’s biggest enterprises, including more than a quarter of France’s CAC 40 firms, across banking, energy, healthcare, defence, and public administration sectors.

At its core are two flagship products: Stream™, a complete PKI platform, and Horizon™, a CLM solution that automates certificate management across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Used together, they deliver a fully European suite that can handle the entire certificate lifecycle from issuance to renewal.

Unlike Venafi, Keyfactor, and AppViewX, Evertrust covers both in a single, compliant environment. The company’s software meets the strictest security standards, including eIDAS, NIST, and, most recently, the CSPN certification from ANSSI, France’s National Cybersecurity Agency.

Founders explain to TFN, “Evertrust is the only European company to offer an integrated CLM module and PKI module. Its European competitors only offer one or the other of these features. PKIs and CLMs published by the same publisher, compatible with each other and designed from the outset for cloud data hosting, constitute a competitive advantage.”

What’s next?

The company plans to triple its technical and sales teams over the next five years and expand its partner network of managed security providers to reach new markets beyond France.

Evertrust also aims to take a leading role in Europe’s transition to post‑quantum security standards, developing next‑generation, quantum‑resistant certificates that will keep digital infrastructures safe for decades to come.

TFN contacted Evertrust for comment regarding diversity and inclusion; no response was received at the time of publication.
