10Lines, an Estonian startup developing autonomous parking lot marking robots, has  raised €1.5 million. The funding round was led jointly by Tera Ventures and Karista, with participation from Butterfly Ventures and Mike Oliinyk (ex-Uber,  Wise, and Wolt).

10Lines aims to capitalise on the growing demand for autonomous line marking solutions. The additional capital will enable 10Lines to accelerate the development of its autonomous robots and software, expand its team of top-tier engineering talent, and strengthen its market presence in the USA.

Robots to replace manual processes everywhere

Founded in 2019 by Tarmo Prints and Janno Paas, 10Lines has developed technology for pavement marking that will allow operators to replace the existing manual process with an automated solution. The company’s robots and software can complete line-markings seven times faster than current processes, cutting out exhaustive measuring and pre-marking and reducing the requirement for human oversight.

With a mission to revolutionise traditional line marking processes, 10Lines utilises robotics and AI technologies to automate line marking operations. Its solution eliminates the need for manual processes, resulting in unparalleled efficiency and cost savings for operators.

“The 10Lines team is creating its own product category with an ingenious application of AI and Robotics to automate line marking operations. We are honored to support their vision and expand their offering to the rest of Europe and the US,” said James McDougall, Venture Partner at Tera Ventures.

“Investing in 10Lines represents a one-of-a-kind opportunity on a large downstream application of the space ecosystem. Our investment is consistent with our strategy towards building Space Tech leaders of the next decade. We were convinced by 10Lines’s professional team, which combines domain expertise and software start-up experience. In addition to the very strong customer benefits provided by the company’s solutions, the solid business model and large potential market size, this makes for a very promising investment for Karista,” commented Emmanuel Daugéras, investment director at Karista.

“We are thrilled to be part of 10Lines journey and invest into their cutting edge robotics technology and shaping the future of pavement marking market,” said Venture partner Anti Kodar at Butterfly Ventures.
