Czech startup Supernova is stepping into the spotlight with Portal, a vibe-coding tool designed to transform the entire product development process. Backed by a $9.2 million Series A round led by Taiwania Capital, Portal goes beyond prototyping, unifying design, code, and product management in a single streamlined platform.
The $9.2 million investment will accelerate both product development and international expansion. With Taiwania Capital leading the round, Supernova gains strategic access to Asian markets. Other backers include J&T Ventures, Reflex Capital, Kaya, Credo Ventures, EQT Ventures, Wing VC, and Y Combinator.
Hiring is also on the agenda. While much of the team works remotely, Supernova is strengthening its Prague hub to support development. Marketing will be another focus, ensuring users can adopt and scale the Portal smoothly.
For years, product teams have struggled with fragmented workflows. Documentation drifts out of sync, resources fall short, and endless back-and-forth slows delivery. Portal aims to cut through these bottlenecks, offering an end-to-end system that integrates seamlessly into existing processes while keeping consistency across all outputs.
From prototypes to business cases
What sets Portal apart is its ability to extend vibe-coding to the full product lifecycle. Unlike tools such as Lovable and v0 that specialise in prototyping, Portal empowers teams from ideation to launch.
A single person can build high-fidelity prototypes, assign agents to update specifications instantly, generate auto-synced documentation, and even craft tailored business cases for stakeholders. The results stay consistent with previous designs and materials, ensuring teams don’t lose alignment along the way.
Portal integrates directly with tools teams already use Figma, GitHub, and VSCode, so no major workflow overhaul is required. With embedded agents, tasks like syncing PRDs or resolving inconsistencies can be handled in real time, all within Slack-style collaboration.
Trusted by global brands
Supernova’s approach is already winning over major enterprises. Its customer base includes Mozilla, Air France, KLM, Kraft Heinz, Paramount, Skyscanner, and LaunchDarkly. Today, more than 400 companies use the platform, with over half coming from the enterprise segment.
This traction reflects Supernova’s steady expansion into the U.S. and beyond. The company’s Prague roots have grown into a global presence, supported by a diverse team spanning Europe and the U.S. By offering consistency and reliability at scale, Supernova has established itself as a trusted partner for large organisations tackling complex product challenges.
What do we think?
Founded in 2018 by Jiri Trecak and Oskar Koristka as a design-to-code handoff tool, Supernova has evolved into a full product development ecosystem. Before starting Supernova, he worked as a freelancer on projects for Uber, the governments of the United States and Australia, startups like StartMonday, and STRV, a web and mobile agency. Its acceptance into Y Combinator in 2019 marked a turning point, opening doors to the U.S. market. Seven years later, it stands as a 30-person company reshaping how teams build, manage, and deliver digital products.
Supernova’s journey reflects a clear shift in product development: moving from siloed, documentation-heavy processes to integrated ecosystems where ideas flow seamlessly into delivery. With Portal, the company isn’t just refining workflows—it’s redefining how entire teams operate.
“We are proud to work together with Supernova, a company poised to define the future of product development. They have a unique knowledge architecture that unifies design systems and code into a rich, comprehensive arsenal. This foundation is the key to creating an AI-powered platform that goes beyond prototyping, revolutionising the entire product development lifecycle. Our investment is also a strategic partnership to help Supernova develop Asian market opportunities through Taiwan,” said David Weng, CEO of Taiwania Capital.
“As an engineer and product leader who’s spent years in the trenches building and shipping products, I’ve seen firsthand how these bottlenecks bring teams to a halt. That’s why we’re launching this new product—to give individuals the power to ship like an entire team and enable full teams to push 10x faster, so they can focus on creating exceptional products rather than getting bogged down,” noted Jiří Třečák, founder and CEO of Supernova.
“We invested in Supernova because it tackles one of the most painful and costly gaps in product development-design-to-code translation, especially in legacy systems. By automating routine design changes, Supernova frees up engineering teams to focus on high-value work, while scaling both team efficiency and client impact,” said David Polách, General Partner of J&T Ventures.
“Supernova is doing for product development what Figma did for design: giving teams a single place to collaborate and move fast. The trust of such a significant number of international enterprises proves the strength of their vision. CEE has a track record of producing founders who pair deep technical expertise with sharp commercial instincts, and Supernova is one of the most exciting examples of that,” added Tomáš Obrtáč, General Partner of KAYA VC.
