Cyera, valued at $9 billion, has bought Ryft, a data lake startup based in New York and Tel Aviv, with the acquisition price undisclosed. This marks Cyera’s fourth acquisition in five years, following others such as Trail, which focused on data activity monitoring.

Since its founding in 2024 by Yossi Reitblat, Yuval Yogev, and Guy Gadon, Ryft received $8 million in seed funding from Index Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners, with support from members of the Wiz founding team and executives from Zscaler, CrowdStrike, Confluent, and Cisco.

Ryft’s platform uses an open-source standard for modern data lakes, allowing companies to retain full control of their data without being tied to a single vendor. Ryft’s managed layer automatically handles optimisation, compliance, disaster recovery, and governance. The founders say it is an AI-ready data lake that supports agent workloads needing clean, well-managed, and traceable data access at scale.

This deal helps Cyera build a unified platform for managing data and AI, giving companies a clear view of how AI agents access data, including the methods and permissions involved. The combined platform will meet the rising demand for AI, agent-secure data infrastructure, a market that currently lacks a clear leader.

“The Ryft team brings deep expertise at the intersection of data and AI, and will play a key role as we build a unified data and AI control plane to help enterprises adopt agentic AI safely and at speed,” says Tamar Bar-Ilan, co-founder and CTO of Cyera.

Cyera plans to triple its revenue over the next year, aiming for $1 billion in annual recurring revenue, with Europe expected to account for at least 25% of near-term income.
