The European mid-sized factories, historically vital to the continent’s economy, are caught between mounting global competition and supply chain complexities on one side, and an urgent need for modernisation with limited time, talent, and resources on the other. Many manufacturers still rely on outdated ERP systems that don’t suit their fast-paced and precise operations, forcing them to use spreadsheets or rigid legacy platforms. Bonx is transforming this landscape.

Based in Paris, the startup helps mid-market European manufacturers improve their operations with an innovative, AI-driven ERP platform. Bonx allows factories to digitise their processes within weeks instead of years by offering no-code customisation, advanced AI features, and quick deployment. The platform integrates smoothly with existing systems, providing visibility and control over production, logistics, procurement, and quality, without replacing core finance or CRM tools.

Today, Bonx announced an $8.6 million seed funding round led by 9900 Capital, with participation from Kima Ventures, Purple, OSS Ventures, and Dynamo Ventures. The funding will support team expansion, product enhancement, and scaling in Italy and Spain — two key European manufacturing markets where Bonx already operates. The company recognises strong demand for rapid, modern ERP solutions that respect existing workflows while enabling smarter, more connected manufacturing.

Founders’ vision and industry insight

Founded in 2022 within OSS Ventures by Alexandre Barroux and Rémi Beges, Bonx benefits from their extensive manufacturing, operations, and software development backgrounds. Both have experienced firsthand the challenges faced by European manufacturers.

Alexandre Barroux, with a Master’s in Management from INSEAD and fluency in four languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian), has co-founded eight manufacturing SaaS startups in the OSS Ventures ecosystem. His previous roles include positions at Full Speed Automation, Juno, Automi AI, and other OSS Ventures. Rémi Beges, serving as CTO, has developed two ERPs from scratch, giving him deep insight into the limitations of traditional ERP customisation.

OSS Ventures, the startup studio behind Bonx, has been a significant player in the industrial startup scene since 2019. It has launched 15 startups, primarily in France and internationally, and invested in four more. Its portfolio brands generate €25 million annually in recurring revenue and support over 40,000 operators monthly across nearly 2,000 industrial sites worldwide. The team conducts two factory visits weekly, with over 800 trips completed, to identify real-world manufacturing pain points and ground their solutions in actual needs.

The founders identified a key market gap: traditional ERP systems are often rigid, slow to implement, and expensive due to reliance on consultants. Manufacturers need a solution that is quick, adaptable, and easy to use — one that can be tailored to their processes without forcing change.

“Our mission remains clear: empower manufacturers to simplify and take control of their operations through technology that adapts to their precise needs,” said Alexandre Barroux, CEO of Bonx. “This funding propels us into our next phase, becoming Europe’s definitive ERP leader for mid-sized manufacturers, expanding our successful model from France into new key markets, notably Italy and Spain.”

Behind Bonx: Technology, USPs, and competitive differentiation

Bonx distinguishes itself with its modular, visual interface and quick deployment. Unlike traditional ERP systems that often take months and rely on costly consultants, Bonx is designed to go live quickly and adapt as the shop floor evolves.

The platform utilises the latest graph technologies and a no-code setup, allowing factories to tailor the system to their actual processes rather than fitting into a preset mould. Its modular, visual design makes it easy for operators and supply chain teams to use, and its flexibility allows rapid adjustments as needs change, ensuring a convenient and efficient experience for the users.

Bonx integrates smoothly with existing finance and CRM systems, providing real-time visibility and control across production, logistics, procurement, and quality, without requiring manufacturers to overhaul their existing technology investments.

Advanced AI features assist manufacturers in optimising workflows, enhancing traceability, and making smarter decisions. This aligns with the rising trend in France, where government initiatives like “Industrie du Futur” actively promote AI adoption in manufacturing. Several French manufacturers, including suppliers to Décathlon and innovative premium brands like French Bloom, which has experienced triple annual growth, are already using the platform.

Bonx’s approach is fundamentally different from that of traditional ERP providers. Legacy systems are often inflexible and opaque, demanding custom development even for simple changes. They face challenges with integration, adapting to new regulations, and user-friendly design. In contrast, Bonx is built for speed, flexibility, and interoperability, allowing manufacturers to modernise seamlessly without disruption.

“By focusing exclusively on manufacturing and supply-chain operations, we’ve built Bonx to integrate effortlessly with existing tools, particularly general ledgers and CRM solutions that our customers already rely on and love,” said Rémi Beges, CTO of Bonx. “Manufacturers don’t have to replace the systems they’re accustomed to; Bonx complements and enhances their stack and acts as their operational backbone.”

What’s next for Bonx?

With its new funding, Bonx is well-positioned for rapid expansion across Europe’s most important manufacturing economies. Investor confidence underscores the urgency and opportunity in the market. Juliette Sylvain, Principal at 9900 Capital, remarks: “Bonx is redefining the ERP landscape by combining extraordinary implementation speeds with genuinely impactful AI-driven capabilities, driving enormous efficiencies within an industry plagued by legacy software. We are thrilled to support Bonx as it sets a new industry standard and scales across Europe.”

Over time, Bonx envisions becoming the foundational layer for industrial execution across the continent. The company looks forward to a future where its platform is the go-to digital infrastructure for mid-sized manufacturers, enabling smarter, more connected operations that scale with production, not against it.
