Ex-Google execs’ Ahead Health raises $6M to catch cancer, heart disease years early with AI

Diseases are often caught late, data is scattered across systems, and advanced diagnostics remain expensive and hard to access. This reactive model leaves a major gap, especially when today’s AI tools can spot early warning signs long before symptoms appear.

Based out of Zurich, Ahead Health is built to close that gap. The Swiss startup is using AI to bring preventive healthcare into a single, clear digital flow.

It combines full-body MRI scans, advanced blood tests, and CT scans into a single platform that turns complex medical data into simple, personalised health insights. The entire check-up takes about 30 minutes and results in a digital health plan designed to catch potential issues early.

To enhance this, Ahead Health has raised $6 million in a seed funding round led by RTP Global, with backing from Tiny.VC, Pareto 20, and a group of experienced founders, operators, and athletes.

Shifting care from late reaction to early action

Founded in 2024 by former Google executives, medical doctors, and healthtech builders, Ahead Health focuses on early detection.

Vinsensius Vega, CTO and Co-founder at Ahead Health, said, “Proprietary, hard-to-get data is where we believe the AI-puck is going. We want to help people securely and safely build that data set, and help make sense of it – embedded in the local healthcare system they’re part of.”

The company’s AI analyses biomarkers from scans and blood data to flag signs of conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, brain disorders, and endometriosis, often years earlier than traditional healthcare pathways.

The company says around 25 per cent of its users have uncovered a previously unknown medical issue through the platform.

Nick Lenten, CEO and Co-founder at Ahead Health, said, “Well-analysed data for preventative health purposes is already making a massive difference, with 25% of those who have used our services discovering a medical issue that was previously unknown to them. Next to that, we also uncover more longevity-focused insights – for instance, when our MRI analysis pinpointed the root cause of my own nagging lower back pain, which then allowed me to treat the issue.”

As a licensed medical practice, Ahead Health operates through partnerships with clinics across Switzerland and Germany, combining rigorous medical testing with an AI platform that continuously learns from research and individual health patterns.

The company is now expanding its network across Europe, with plans to enter Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria.

What’s next?

The fresh capital will be used to grow the engineering team, add new testing options, strengthen the platform, and sign more clinic partners across Europe.

Jelmer de Jong, Partner at RTP Global, said, “There’s enormous untapped potential in the preventative health space, which is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting applications of AI in healthcare. Nick and team combine operator experience with healthcare expertise to keep building on their success and serve the growing number of consumers placing a priority on proactive health management. ”

TFN contacted Ahead Health for comment regarding diversity and inclusion; no response was received at the time of publication.
