With £2.1M, Adclear aims to transform financial marketing compliance via AI

In industries like banking, investing, and cryptocurrency, every piece of marketing must comply with strict rules set by regulators such as the FCA and ASA. Traditionally, this can take days or weeks, as legal teams manually check each item.

London-based startup Adclear simplifies this process by automating compliance checks on social media posts, advertisements, emails, websites, and product interfaces. Its AI-driven “FinProm” platform offers real-time, policy-tailored feedback that cuts approval times by approximately 88%. 

Today, Adclear closed an oversubscribed £2.1 million Seed funding round led by Outward VC, with participation from AFG Partners, Tenity, and key angel investors such as Clearscore founder Dan Cobley and Coinbase Managing Director Keith Grose, who invested through the a16z scout fund and the Ventures Together community. Early-stage backers Haatch and Force Over Mass Capital, who supported the pre-seed round, also joined.

This fresh capital will fund team growth from its current eight members, accelerate market penetration abroad, and support the development of tools addressing the full marketing lifecycle, including post-publication compliance monitoring for affiliates and finfluencers.

AI built for financial marketing compliance

Adclear was founded in 2024 by three college friends, Doni Hoti (CEO), Joe Jordan (CCO), and Cameron Ward, who share deep experience in regulated marketing and financial services.

Joe Jordan shares with TFN, “We saw a widening gap and an opportunity to solve it: AI lets marketing teams create and personalise content at unprecedented speed, but compliance processes are stuck in slow, manual review cycles. In finance, that mismatch isn’t just inefficient, it’s risky. We founded Adclear to let compliance move at the speed of creation, so brands can 10x their marketing and compliance teams can spend significantly less time giving the same feedback again and again.”

The company’s vision centres on synchronising compliance processes with modern marketing speed, enabling innovation while reducing regulatory headaches. Joe Jordan remarks that the rapid adoption by leading UK financial institutions underscores strong demand for a dynamic, AI-enabled FinProm solution that combines cutting-edge technology with regulatory insight and customer-focused design.

The system delivers tailored real-time feedback, automated claims evaluation, positional comments to flag necessary revisions precisely, and detailed audit trails that support accountability and traceability.

Unlike Red Oak Compliance Solutions or Secjur, Adclear covers the entire FinProm compliance lifecycle, including post-publication monitoring of affiliate and influencer content.

With annual recurring revenue growing 10x since early 2025, Adclear is now the leading player in the UK’s financial promotions (FinProm) compliance market.

What’s next?

Looking forward, Jordan concludes, “This funding lets us scale the team beyond eight, expand internationally, and ship new products. We’ve extended coverage beyond FCA/ASA to EU and US regimes, with APAC and MENA going live in the coming months. We’re also building for the full FinProm lifecycle: from pre-approval through post-publication monitoring of affiliates, partners and finfluencers. The goal is simple: make compliant growth the default for regulated brands, everywhere.”
