WorkerHero, a Munich-based recruiting technology startup, has successfully raised €4M in a Series A funding round. This round was led by Mediahuis, one of Europe’s prominent media groups, which is known for its extensive industry experience and innovative approach. Existing investors, including 10x Founders and Bonsai Partners, also participated in this funding round.

AI-driven talent matching to address skilled labour shortages

Founded in 2021 by Richard Fischer, Steven Miller, Michael König, and Emanuel Wernitz, WorkerHero was created to tackle the persistent shortage of skilled workers. The platform leverages AI-driven sourcing and matching to connect companies with high-quality candidates, focusing on comprehensive pre-qualification to ensure higher success rates. WorkerHero has already seen over 70,000 users create profiles on the platform, with companies such as Telekom, HelloFresh, and BayWa successfully recruiting through its services.

Patrick de Wachter, Director of Corporate Development at Mediahuis, commented on WorkerHero’s performance: “WorkerHero’s outstanding performance demonstrates the effectiveness of focusing on well-defined blue-collar sectors, delivering better-matched candidates much faster than broader market players. WorkerHero’s unwavering commitment to user experience and quality delivery has driven impressive growth since its inception. We are excited to support WorkerHero in its future growth and look forward to seeing their continued success!”

Enhancing the platform and expanding internationally

The newly secured funding will allow WorkerHero to scale its operations and enter new industries. An upgrade to a new platform version is planned, which will further simplify the recruiting and job-searching process for users. This updated version will offer an improved design and enhanced features, including advanced AI tools. Additionally, WorkerHero aims to focus on international hiring to support companies in recruiting skilled workers from abroad.

Richard Fischer, CEO and Co-Founder of WorkerHero, highlighted the company’s vision: “We want to solve the labour shortage in Europe by helping companies find skilled workers both within the specific country and from abroad. With the support of Mediahuis and our existing investors, we are well-positioned to realise our vision.”
