Manchester-based startup Voxelo has secured £300,000 in the first close of its pre-seed funding round as it looks to scale its 3D, AR, and AI-powered studio for product content. The round is still open, with room for a small number of strategic investors to join ahead of the final close.

The company is backed by early investors and advisors, including Andy Gray, former director at eBay and co-founder of NFT marketplace KnownOrigin. Gray has joined Voxelo as both an investor and advisor to support its next phase of growth.

“All of this starts from capturing a 3D digital twin with a short video. Our belief is simple: better product content builds buyer confidence – and buyer confidence drives conversion in ecommerce,” said Vladimir Mulhem, CEO of Voxelo.

Turning video into 3D product content

Founded by Vladimir Mulhem, Ben McKay, and Roman Bromidge, Voxelo helps retailers and brands create high-quality 3D models, augmented reality experiences, product visuals, and lifestyle content using a single uploaded product video.

The company’s goal is to make advanced product content faster, cheaper, and easier to produce, especially for e-commerce teams without technical expertise.

At the core of Voxelo’s platform is its proprietary UG3D technology, which turns a simple product video into a production-ready 3D digital twin in around two hours. That digital twin can then be used to generate interactive 3D models, AR ‘place-in-space’ experiences, annotated product views, and studio-style visuals and lifestyle imagery.

The company positions itself as an alternative to traditional content pipelines, which are often slow, expensive, and split across multiple tools and suppliers. Instead, it offers a single platform designed for non-technical teams to create and scale product content across formats.

At present, the startup is already working with early customers, including Cosatto and British Attire. It has also received support from programmes such as Innovate UK, Turing Innovation Catalyst, Exchange Accelerator, and Venture Forward.

What’s next?

Following early customer traction and advisor appointments, Voxelo is now moving toward the final close of its pre-seed round. To mark the release of Voxelo 2.0, the company is offering 10,000 free credits, equivalent to 10 3D digital twins and AR experiences, and has opened sign-ups for its AI beta programme.

Co-Founder and COO, Ben McKay adds, “We’ve built Voxelo in lockstep with our end-users, and what’s clear is that product content creation remains too hard, too costly, and too creatively limited when budgets are tight – which they almost always are. When e-commerce and content teams lean on AI tools today, they often encounter hallucinations and content constrained to 2D. Our approach is different.”

Roman Bromidge, Co-Founder and CTO, adds: “Advanced 3D shouldn’t feel intimidating. We’ve focused on making the experience simple, consistent, and reliable, so teams can focus on merchandising and storytelling rather than production complexity.”

Andy Gray, Advisor and Investor, adds, “Product experience in e-commerce is ripe for disruption. Consumers deserve more than a carousel of flat images. When I first interacted with Voxelo’s user-generated 3D models, it was a lightbulb moment – and I think we’re just at the beginning of what this technology can unlock.”
