Rox, a startup building autonomous AI agents designed to improve sales productivity, could raise a new funding round that values the company at around $1.2 billion, according to the report.

The investment was led by existing backer General Catalyst, sources said.

The funding closed last year, when Rox was expected to reach about $8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by the end of 2025, according to people with knowledge of the round.

Rapid growth since launch

Rox was founded in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee, the former chief growth officer at New Relic. Mukherjee joined New Relic after the company acquired Pixie, a software monitoring startup he co-founded, in 2020.

In November 2024, Rox announced that it had raised a total of $50 million. The funding included a seed round led by Sequoia and a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with additional participation from GV.

AI agents designed for sales teams

Rox describes its platform as an intelligent revenue operating system that connects with tools companies already use, such as Salesforce and Zendesk.

The platform deploys hundreds of AI agents that work in the background. These agents track customer activity, research potential leads, and automatically update CRM systems. The goal is to simplify sales operations and replace the many separate software tools that sales teams currently rely on.

Rox is entering a competitive market that includes established revenue intelligence platforms such as Gong and Clari, as well as newer AI sales automation startups like 11x and Artisan.

There are also new all-in-one AI-native CRM platforms entering the space. One example is Monaco, a startup founded by former Brex president Sam Blond, which recently emerged from stealth mode.

According to the company’s website, Rox already counts several large technology firms among its customers, including Ramp, MongoDB, and New Relic.
