German robotics startup Neura Robotics is reportedly raising about €1 billion in a new funding round to accelerate the development of artificial-intelligence-powered humanoid robots. The investment round is expected to include backing from Tether, the company behind the world’s largest stablecoin, USDT.

According to Bloomberg, the round could value the Metzingen-based robotics company at roughly €4 billion. People familiar with the matter said the fundraising may also be followed by additional rounds, though details remain private.

The potential deal comes as investors increase funding for humanoid robotics companies. Many in the technology sector see robots powered by artificial intelligence as the next major shift after software-based AI.

Neura Robotics and its humanoid vision

Neura Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger with the goal of developing what the company calls cognitive robot machines that can see, hear, and sense their surroundings while learning from experience.

The company develops both industrial and consumer robotics systems. Its approach focuses on building machines that combine sensors, AI software, and robotic hardware in a single device. The company describes this concept as similar to creating a “smartphone with arms and legs.”

Neura Robotics also operates a software platform called Neuraverse, which is designed to support the development and deployment of intelligent robots that can interact safely with humans.

CEO David Reger said last year that the company had nearly $1 billion worth of orders, including customers such as Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Omron.

The startup previously raised €120 million in January 2025 in a round led by Lingotto Investment Management, the investment arm of Exor. Other investors included Volvo Cars Tech Fund.

Later in 2025, Neura Robotics began exploring a larger fundraising round that could raise as much as €1 billion, as it aims to expand production and accelerate the development of its humanoid robotics technology.
