London-headquartered femtech startup Elvie, which develops women’s health products such as a breast pump and pelvic floor trainer, has snapped £9.6 million in funding. The investment round was raised from existing investors.

Previously, we saw Emulait, a Las Vegas-based startup, and UK-based femtech startup LatchAid help mothers feed their newborns raise funding.

Previously, Elvie raised a £70.7 million Series C round in 2021 and quietly secured another £18.5 million from internal investors in 2022. To date, the startup has raised total funding of $136 million from backers, including BlackRock, Octopus Ventures, and the Business Growth Fund.

Improve women’s lives via technology

Founded in 2013 by Tania Boler, Elvie develops products that improve women’s lives. After realising the lack of support for new mums, Boler brought together a team of engineers, designers, and business minds to redesign the existing unattractive and outdated medical devices in women’s health into sleek consumer products that could be used at home. The company aims to revolutionise categories like breast pumps and pelvic floor health.

Elvie’s women-centric products

It has launched four products in the market. Its first product Elvie Trainer is a Kegel trainer and app; the second product is Elvie Pump – a first silent, wearable breast pump. Elvie’s first product, Elvie Trainer, is an award-winning app-connected Kegel trainer that helps women strengthen their pelvic floor using fun, five-minute workouts with real-time biofeedback. Later, it launched its second innovation, Elvie Pump, the world’s first silent wearable breast pump, which creates an entirely new pumping experience that offers women complete freedom and mobility.

In October 2020, it brought two new breastfeeding products to market – Elvie Catch and Elvie Curve; both enhancing the Elvie breastfeeding range. Elvie Curve is a wearable, silicone breast pump that uses natural suction to enable comfort, and Elvie Catch is a set of two secure milk collection cups to catch leaks and collect additional milk.
