Content creation has evolved from a linear process of one-time releases to a continuous cycle essential for audience growth and retention. This shift has spurred a need for more sophisticated tools beyond traditional methods like Google Sheets, which lead to disorganisation and inefficiency. With AI now amplifying content complexity and volume, it’s crucial to have a more sophisticated approach to content management.

This is where Swedish startup Gridly plays a major role. It aims to help customers more efficiently manage and control a digital content flow of increasing volume and complexity, fueled by the rapid deployment of AI.

Cloud-based content ops platform

Recently, Gridly closed a $2.6 million seed investment round from a Nordic B2B software investor Subvenio Invest, a US-based digital media specialist Rendered VC, and existing investors.

The funding will support the continued development of the company’s cloud-based content ops platform.

Jiten Dajee, Partner at digital media and entertainment-focused investor Rendered VC said: “We were impressed at the number of global publishers putting Gridly at the heart of their flagship titles for content production. In the upcoming era of AI-assisted content creation, we see Gridly becoming an essential platform to power automated and sustainable content operations.”

Patrik Östersgård, Partner at Subvenio Invest said, “We are excited to team up with Gridly on their quest to become a key digital content infrastructure company in the gaming sector and beyond. As a B2B software-focused investor, we are impressed by the company’s proprietary technology, blue-chip customer portfolio, and attractive growth and SaaS metrics; all testament to Gridly’s strong momentum and potential.”

Manage digital content with AI

Gridly was founded in 2022 in Sweden by former game developers and serial entrepreneurs Christoffer Nilsson and Mattias Wennerholm. The content operations platform empowers organisations to efficiently manage a digital content flow of increasing volume and complexity fueled by the rapid deployment of AI.

With Gridly, teams can take control of the full digital content process from planning, creation, localisation, quality assurance, and publication for teams to control their content processes fully. The company lets them do it faster, at a lower cost, with improved quality, better control, and at scale.

With over 100 customers, Gridly is already serving leading gaming companies such as Rovio, Scopely, and Warner Bros. In addition to games, it has customers across various verticals, including fintech, medtech, and SaaS.

Mattias Wennerholm, CTO and Co-Founder at Gridly said, “As a game developer,

managing diverse digital content such as text, images, audio, and videos was challenging due to the lack of suitable tools. We often resorted to using Google Sheets alongside a mix of tools, leading to disorganised data and inefficiency. This issue was prevalent even at large gaming companies. With AI now amplifying content complexity and volume, it’s crucial to have a more sophisticated approach for content management.”

Christoffer Nilsson, CEO and Co-Founder at Gridly added, “With Gridly, we want to help teams creating great content to take control of their full content process: from planning, creation, localisation, quality assurance and publication to maintenance and support. Gridly is increasingly being adopted by content teams as the go-to solution for embedding AI capabilities within their content workflows.”
